In the cover of darkness, four dragons moved forwards. It was finally time. The female lifted her long neck, and frowned at the rising two moons. She was sure that they were supposed to meet, so where were the others?
Sighing, she shifted her gold and rose scales, huffing. Crickets chirped cheerily from nearby, and the tapping of talons accompanied them.
The dragoness jumped as a branch nearby broke, whirling around, her frills and wings outspread. Once she saw who it was though, she quickly calmed.
"Scorpio, what are you doing? Are you trying to get a face full of fire?" She snapped, but she quickly moved forward to grab the other and pull him forward.
The ebony and velvet colored male rolled his eyes, and shook his scarred head. "You should've been paying more attention. Besides, the others are just behind me." He replied, motioning to the dusty-beige and dark-blue shapes flying towards them.
Once the others had finally landed, the first dragoness looked back up to the large moons. "Tonight. Tonight we will finally start."
"Truly? Start it this night?" A broad shouldered dragon, asked, moving closer towards the dark, four-winged blue dragoness. "Maybe we shouldn't be too hasty, Serenade. We haven't ... we still haven't found the others."
"Hasty? We've been waiting for two years under this moons-damnable tyrant. The time to act is now. If you're going to back out, Ignis, then you should leave." She snapped.
A silence fell over the group, and Serenade sighed, shaking her head. "I apologise for that. But we don't have time to wait any longer, friend. Haven't you seen what's happened? They took her..." The dragoness's voice trailed off, and she looked away, her tail curling around her legs. The fierce fire normally around the female changing into a dimmer, light rose-gold color.
Scorpio moved quickly towards the distraught female, placing an arm and a wing over her shoulders. They all knew what she spoke of. They all had someone or something taken away by... him....
"We don't have time to be careful anymore. We need to start now." Scorpio repeated, glaring at Ignis. The dark drake was always prepared to take the offensive, and had lost his patience the past year. It wasn't time to dawdle.
The four-winged dragoness who had been silent so far, nodded. "They've gone to far this time Ignis. They should never have taken away the little one. We must prepare. We have been silent for too long. Besides... The collision has started. Haven't you noticed?" She asked, twisting her head towards the dark gray and orange drake. "Of course I have. It's hard not too. It's only a matter of time before they start showing up." Ignis sat down, rubbing his forehead with a talon.
"Then you know why we have to start now... Come on. They'll notice we're miss-" The female stopped, a blank look over-coming her. The others looked up in alarm, as the runes on their scales began to glow ever so slightly. The sign of the Mauraders. They watched as the female stood stock-still, before crumpling.
Ignis, being the closest, gently grabbed her. He was known for being the gentle one, and often comforted the Currentwing or the others after their little spells and fits. "Wha- what did you see this time, Depthstrider?" He asked.
"We'll have... the collision will bring new-comers here. I'm sure of it. The possibilities... They will help us. We must find them before... The others do. In the meanwhile, we must begin with the plan." She stated, the runes along her wings fading out. The light previously given by the runes disappeared as she gained her barings. Depthstrider shuddered, and Serenade stood, a hard look on her face. "Then that's it. The ancestors have spoken..." Pausing, Serenade and Scorpio moved closer to the others, wobbling slightly. "I think we should stay here for the time being. They won't notice us missing until tomorrow. Depths needs her strength anyways." Serenade growled protectively,
