It was cold. Too cold. Even moving closer to fire, it was too cold. No matter where he went, it was as though he couldn't escape it.

Scorpio looked down at his ebony and dark crimson scales, then to his velvety wings, sighing in annoyance, a puff of cold air escaping his muzzle. There was honestly nothing that could help. It was a Shadewing's curse to stay cold. Until they found something, whether a dream or not to warm them. Maybe a soulmate? Or an object? He had no idea. He didn't even know how the curse was planted on his poor species.

Something that had shocked him though, was when he had suddenly felt warmth. It was when the strangers... or outsiders had showed up. The warmth was like the feeling of fulfillment. Like something big was about to happen.

Scorpio looked up at the sky, and shook his head, huffing slightly at the now sleeping, slightly healed dragoness, before looking towards the others. Whisperflight. What a strange name. In fact, all of them had strange names. Featherfall... Lynxpaw.... And Nightwatcher?

What made him curious, was the fact that most of them looked outlandish. Nightwatcher though, was an exception it seemed. Shadewings as well as Weatherwings were known for being both dull, and strangely beautiful.

Lynxpaw was... strange looking for a Candlewing, but it made Scorpio curious when he saw the blue fire lit on the other's spine. Most dragons had variants of red and gold, but... blue had to be one of the most unusual fire colors.

For a moment, Scorpio felt sad once the other realized how cold Nightwatcher had probably become.

Looking down at the other drake, Scorpio was brought back to the moment when the new dragons had arrived. The small dragonet and his mentor had fallen first, and had been saved by Ignis and Depthstrider.

__Flashback__

The wind shifted suddenly, and the sounds of something heavy falling woke the ebony and crimson drake. The others had woken as well, though Depthstrider had began to point up. A dark silver and blue, slightly furry dragoness beside a dark beige adolescent had pretty much appeared out of no where, and were screaming, though they were still very high away from the ground. "Why on the ancestor's spines aren't they flying?" Scorpio growled, standing.

"I- i don't think they can. Look how awkwardly they're falling. Even the smallest of dragonets know how to slow their fall. Come on, Ignis, grab the female. I'll get the other." Depthstrider ordered, opening her large rune covered wings. The mark of the Marauders....

The male Weatherwing quickly nodded, and both of them took off. In a few moments, they came back with the shivering, shocked looking strangers.

"What on the ancestor's wings were you two doing? How did you even end up there?" Serenade snapped, stalking towards them threateningly.

"W-we- i- I don't know! Where even are we?" The small dragonet asked, panic clear in his voice.

Scorpio shared a look with the other rebels, before Depthstrider took the lead again. "I'm going to assume you are not from here then...?"

"Are THESE the strangers that had been spoken about to you?" The Candlewing asked, her scales shifting and clinking.

"I think so. It would explain quite a bit." Depthstrider murmured, before looking over to the strangers. "What were you before this then, if I may ask?"

"Cats. We were... I'm assuming you don't know what cats are... furry, mammals, pointy ears?"

"I've seen some type of furry creatures with the scavengers." Ignis said. "Scavengers always had a strange taste in creatures though."
