I: Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen! They call me Imp.
A: And I’m Angel.
I: And this is the Imp and Angel Hour – your primary destination for everything Game related! For those of you who’ve been hiding under a rock, the game is slowly drawing to a close. But it’s no less exciting for that! Just today the Fortunate Five,
A: AKA the Blizzards,
I: That’s right Angel, were attacked in broad daylight, at a parade in their honour, no less!
A: And to celebrate Aberfell’s many victories.
I: The attackers exploded bombs, armed prisoners and even triggered a tear to a pocket dimension! The King was badly hurt and Elutheur,
A: Who many believe is key to the group’s success,
I: was pulled into the realm of the death-worshiping, magic eating, spider cult the Arcant! Can you believe it?
A: No I can’t, Imp.
I: Neither can I! Everybody’s favourite dwarf seems to have got himself into a spot of bother, ladies and gentlemen! Is this the end for him? Will he be out of the game? Will we get a chance to talk to him soon?
A: It’s about time, Imp. We’ve got a lot of questions.
I: That we do Angel! But what has many people’s panties in a bunch is that nobody saw the attack coming. This must have taken a lot of preparation, but somehow nobody picked up on it! Who’s responsible? That’s what everybody’s scrambling to figure out! Was it something set in motion by another Contender group before they got eliminated? Were the Red Dawn somehow responsible? Nobody knows and everybody got pet theories!
A: So be sure to send them our way!
I: Yes please do. We’re keen to learn what your opinions. We certainly know what the plebes in Aberfell think! They believe that this was an attempt to assassinate their king by one of their neighbours! Of course, that’s highly unlikely – after all when did they have time to set up such a well-organized attack? And let’s not even talk about the knowhow required. The pocket dimension was perfectly crafted to take advantage of the Blizzard’s way of doing battle, so it seems somebody studied them well – but who could it be?
A: we don’t know, Imp.
I: The latest is that the city has managed to put down most of the insurrection, but not before many of the original attackers and the prisoners they armed escaped. The army is on their heels, though they have suffered casualties from some nasty traps the attackers left for them!
A: Masterful traps, Imp.
I: The biggest new threat seems to be new enemies summoned from some as yet unknown pocket dimension, and their causing havoc! Was this why the dwarf was targeted? After all, enchantments were his specialty!
A: A harsh blow for the Blizzards, Imp.
I: That’s right, Angel. The first reports about these creatures seems to suggest they’re daemons. We didn’t know the Game had daemons.
A: No we didn’t.
I: Exciting, Isn’t this an exciting development?
A: Yes it is, Imp.
I: And things haven’t been any less interesting in the Nashine empire, where the civil war between the Empress and the Red Dawn continues to tear the place apart! But perhaps not for long! It looks like the Empress has forced this Contender group into meeting her main army. She outnumbers them four to one! I wonder if the Red Dawn can manage to overcome such odds, Angel.
A: They’re resourceful Imp.
I: That they are, but they are no longer favourites to win and that must count for something. This will be an exciting one to watch!
A: It will indeed, Imp.
