The Bunnies and the Wolves

After school Lilly decided to go into the barrens by herself. Bill was busy with his little brother and Eddie had to go to the pharmacy and her twin decided to go with Eddie without her. Lilliana walked to the kissing bridge where she was Victor, belch and Henry holding down a new face.

"I'm going to fucking cut your tits off!" Henry yelled

Lilliana's mind was a bit dazed.

"It's Friday... should I really get involved? Lilliana thought.

Lilliana's legs started to move towards the commotion when she caught sight of Henry's knife.

"Please s-stop It Henry..." Lilliana whispered

Henry stopped and looked at her. Seeing her up this close and alone... it was just so hard for him not to go to her. He didn't know what he'd do once he got to her.

Lilliana's eyes widened when she saw the state of Henry's face.

"Victor... belch... Can you too leave in exchange for my muffins?" Lilliana asked

She pulled out a container from her bag full of muffins. Belch instantly dropped the new kid and snatched the muffins from Lilliana's hands and victor trailed not to far behind him.

"Sorry Henry... free food." Victor said while standing next to an all too complicate belch.

Victor and belch soon walked off munching on some fresh muffins. Henry stared at the backs of his friends in shock.  Lilliana walked past Henry and looked at the boy who was now sitting on the curb.

"You're safe now... I won't let him hurt you. My names Lilliana." Lilliana smiled with her kind words.

"My names Ben!" Ben said with a rose red face.

"Doesn't look like they got you too bad." Lilliana murmured.

Lilliana graves a few rubbing alcohol pads and give the few bruises and cuts some quick dabs.

"Here are some bandaids. You should go now." Lilliana whispered while looking at Henry.

"Will I see you again? I mean do you want to see me again!?" Ben said as his face turned redder.

Lilliana smiles and nodded. Ben than scrambled away with the bandaids Lilliana gave her.

Henry looked at Lilliana. He was feeling guilty for hurting her. He even felt bad for beating her brother up. He also felt bad about his dad. Henry had found the noose a little while ago. He knew who made it. Henry wanted to just beg for forgiveness.

"Come with me, please." Henry said.

Lilly with a bit of hesitance went down into the woods with Henry. The two walked in silence for a few minutes.

"Lilliana." Henry said.

Lilliana froze. This was the second time he had addressed her as anything but nigger and the first time he had said her name.

"Y-Yes bowers." She said with a small stutter.

Lilliana looked into the battered boys eyes and saw his tears.

"I'm sorry I-I hurt you and your brother. I don't even know why I hated you. I can't hate you anymore... you remind me so much of her. Sometimes when you talk I hear her voice coming from your mouth.  I want you to keep tutoring me. I need you!" Henry cried.

Henry stumbles close to her then gripped her shoulders.

" I can change! I'll change! I won't hurt anyone anymore I promise. Just keep on tutoring me. Keep on patching me up. P-please d-d-don't go like she did..." Henry's words broke into a sob.
