Revenge's a Bitch, Isn't it Mate

The Rejection

I sit on my bed, well really a mattress and I twirl my muddy brown hair through my fingers.
"Star, do you think that when we get our mate he will sweep us off our feet and take us away from this hellhole?" I say to an empty room but in actual fact I'm talking to my wolf.

"I don't know, I can't tell you anything like that, and you know that Elena!" she snaps at me

"Why did I have to end up with such a cranky wolf?"

"Why did I have to end up with such a whiney human?" She mocks me

I flop down onto my bed and spread out like a starfish. I look up at the roof and I think one day, just one day I'll get out of here.

I roll over and look at the alarm clock on the floor beside me. It says 4:45pm crap I'd better go and start making dinner. Last time it wasn't ready on time lets just say I was black and blue all over. I pause and shiver, shaking the bad memory off.

I get up off the bed and go down the stairs to clean up afternoon tea and start dinner which was steak and roast vegetables.

I reach the kitchen and I see the mess they have made, all the sugar and flour is out of the cupboards and all over the kitchen making it look like the kitchen exploded, eggs are everywhere, the sink has the plug in and the water has flooded the kitchen mixing with the flour making a gluey substance on the floor.

I sigh and turn and head towards the cleaning cupboard. The stuff they can get away with when the Alphas aren't around is incredible.

It takes me half an hour to clean the kitchen, then I can finally start dinner. I get the steaks out of the fridge and I get the vegetables out of the fridge. I set them to cook and I walk around to the other side of the breakfast bar and sit down.

I smell this wonderful scent wafting into the room. It smells like the woods mixed with chocolate and a touch of musk.

"MATE"

"MATE"

"GO TO MATE"

"FIND MATE"

My wolf is going crazy at the scent. I absent mindedly get up off the stool and let my legs carry me. I end up in the gaming room standing in front of the future Alpha, Luke Moonlight.

"What do you want runt?" He asks

"Mate" I whisper but because of our enhanced hearing everyone heard it and gasps looking between the two of us.

"Don't be stupid runt you're not my mate you can't be" He tells me whilst laughing nervously

"Mate" I just repeat again.

"Well fine then I Luke Moonlight, reject you Elena Damon as my mate and future Luna" He says without his voice quavering.

My heart feels like it breaking into tiny pieces and being stood on. I feel tears well up in my eyes, I turn on my heel and run up to my room. I hear taunts behind me as I leave but I take no notice.

I grab a bag from my wardrobe and I begin shoving clothes into it. I grab a pen and paper and write,

"Dear whoever reads this,
By the time you get this I am long gone, but I will be back and when I am back you will know about it.
Luke you try losing your parents at the age of four and having 30 rouges gang up on you, I had no chance, and you probably would have no chance against that many now in wolf form so how did you expect a four year old to fend off that many assailants.
