Aiza's P.O.V
I waited on my bed patiently while my nerve gear was charging. The case for Alfheim was placed beside it. I flipped through the magazine Katashi bought me while at the gaming store. Even though our deal was he'd just buy the game for me, he insisted on buying the game for. And by insisting I mean, I hinted at it multiple times over and over again.
He's a great guy. Or as my dad says, he's a one in a million or, something like that. I don't remember. I don't care for love much. All I care about is my dad's happiness. Okay that's not all I care about but
My eyes landed on a piece of text in the magazine with the headline of; is ALO losing its rankings?
Alfheim online has been the top trending MMO RPG for years but now it has been falling. We believe it is because of all of the other games being produced as our new generation will grow up with nerve gears and virtual reality games other than Alfheim.
The game has slowly started losing its players and fewer people log in. Our sources believe that kids and such stop playing the video game and focuses on much more important matters. For example, school, physical training, family or simply other hobbies that don't include laying in bed for most of the day.A smirk crept upon my lips and I smiled at the corner of my mouth.
Geez, kids have finally started to realize they'll be complete and utter failures in the future if they don't do their school work. Who could've seen that coming?Katashi knocked on the door to my room and gently pushed the handle down from the other side and peeked in.
"Hey, Aiza, " he greeted. "We're leaving for our date night. My sister had come and taken Aiya with her a few minutes ago. You're sure you don't mind being alone home?""Please Katashi, I'll be fine, " I insisted. Katashi nodded and almost closed the door after him if it wasn't for me jumping off the bed and running towards him. Embracing him.
"Have a great date night, " I wished him. "And a good night storming the castle, "
Katashi placed his hand on my neck and firmly but strongly dug his fingers down in my skin.
I raised my shoulders and screamed Internally.
"Okay okay, I'm sorry!"
He let go of me with a satisfied smirk.
"I'm sorry you didn't get into the love hotel you wanted, "
He narrowed his eyes and attempted to grab me again. But I whirled around and closed the door in front of me.I heard laughter from the other side as I let go of the handle.
"Don't burn the house down sweetie, " he reminded.
"Don't worry daaa-Tashi, " I corrected myself and tried to make it sound like I was making fun of him. But I nearly called him dad. Hey, ain't my fault he acts like one.I heard Katashi walk down the stairs and opening the doors.
Alone at last.I jumped back on my bed and saw how far my nervegear had charged. Fully charged. I put the game in and put the nervegear on my head. Aaand I forgot to loosen it.
I laid down on closed my eyes.
"Link start,"
Flying colors in lines ran down as if in a tunnel until it all faded and I was standing in blackness. The loading screen quickly appeared before going to the language selection pop-up. It somehow just typed Japanese and didn't allow me to change it. What, the fuck? What is this load of bull?!
"Welcome to Alfheim Online!" the title pooped up and a female voice spoke. It sounded a bit like Siri, but less of a robot.
The room lit up with white colors and small golden circles moved around me. Making me stand in the center of the room. A keyboard popped up with initials and a side button with an M and F.
"To begin, please enter your character's gender and name," the sound instructed. I looked at the initials and put a hand on my chin. Wondering what name I would give my avatar.
