Once before all time there lived a great yet lonesome dragon. Flashes of his silhouette shone like an immense emerald perfectly chiseled and polished against the empty night sky. But since he was all alone in this vast universe, he passed the endless expanse with great intellectual conversations with himself, and became quite fond of the wisdom his creative questions incited. Finally he could restrain himself no longer and proposed this character within himself his deliberation.
"My crimson spinel, my pearl of great worth, I would give anything to have you to hold in my arms. "
"Anything? ...If you were to temporarily give up your imortal form, becoming vulnerable to weakness you could... separate yourself taking on mortality. However," she mused "This would have great consequence and would last but a fleeting instance..." She added a bit tensively.
"I would treasure it for all eternity my golden cherub. The closer I have grown to you the greater this empty feeling that blocks me from being with you has only grown! If I could have you before me but for a moment I feel I would possess the strength necessary to battle any curse that would befall my actions of doing so." The great dragon miserably cradled himself for there was nothing else in all existence to hold. "Oh this emptiness that grows inside me! I fear if I should not be rid of it it will implode within and I would cease to exist entirely!"
Determined to battle this void no longer the great one let loose a dragon's roar through the darkness as he split into two. From him came a great lion, a king of the beasts. Upon realizing that this surely was not the object of his longings the two brothers made a pact that they would continue splitting until the character he had created within himself and now longed for with such longing had emerged.
From the lion came a horse of the sea with muscular flanks and green emerald scales. The great dragon had lost much of his empty middle and his horns were the next to go as he split again and out came a ram, king of the mountain-side. Now there were four brothers. Each of the four brothers split one final time. From the king of the sea came a great blue eagle, the queen of the sky. From the lion came a cunning fox, the queen of the dwellers below. Now these first shared traits with each other as they settled on which would be their mate: the eagle gave wings to the lion and he his proud chest and tail to foul. The horse of the sea gave the fox nine tails and the fox shared his flaming orange mane.
From the red ram came a pink doe, the queen of the forest, and finally from the black one - who had now lost all animal characteristics, but his face was unable to be seen for darkness - came the golden maiden, the queen of them all. From the ram she got a long flow of red hair and she gave him of her gold to adorn his hooves and horns. The dark one shared with the doe his grace and she her tender ways.
For the dragon to be re-formed they must all become one body again. In order for this to happen the one that comes from them must be born whose destiny it is to lead them. Willingly they all knelt before the golden-skinned maiden giving her all their light - pledging their undying loyalty and adoration.
"I give you all of my light! Please contain my darkness!"
Pink doe, red ram, orange fox, yellow lion, green horse, blue eagle and black heart united in agreement as their lights mixed around the crimson haired maiden. As a spectrum of pure white light began to shine from within her the creatures and beings took on mortal forms where once they were only spirits.
The dark one was so overjoyed all his emptiness fled far from him. But in that instance of the auras taking on forms - in that moment of pure vulnerability - the emptiness also took shape as it fled away into the night.
