I sit and stare at the dashboard of Alex's car. It was filthy and his car smelled like mold. My face scrunched up as he turned on the air. The smell was revolting but since Aaron was in the back of the car i held myself together. Alex was a friend of Aaron's and I have no other friend's so I went with it.

"Aaron does this hoe smoke weed?"

"Uh I'm not exactly sure. Bambi is kind of quiet and doesn't talk much."

"Lame"

I listen to the boys talk about me like I wasn't there. It was embarrassing, being my age and not having friends other than Aaron. I only trusted Aaron because of how long he has been my friend. Our parents met at the same parenting class and are still close. We had separated when my father was told to move to America for her job. We came to visit Aaron each summer because I had trouble making friends in America. My parents wish that Aaron would date me and I'm not saying I don't like him but I wouldn't date him. We come upon a forest and there nestled in the trees was a small hangout that me and Aaron would hang out every summer.

"Hey uh Bambi. Why do you and Aaron insist on coming to this place?"

"Me and Bambi grew up playing here when our dad's went fishing. We also came because of the fair."

"....Actually it was a Circus...."

"Ah yes also that."

"A circus? What the hell there hasn't been a circus out here ever."

"Well it was a really old circus. One day though we stopped coming. We went to the circus one day and our dad's said we had wondered off to a circus graveyard. We were some really dumb kids."

"Well we're here so get the hell out."

With that Alex was gone and Aaron and I were alone in our spit. He took out a bong and started smoking. I coughed at the smoke he breathed in my face. It was so strong and sour it made my eyes water. Aaron looked at me with his piercing blue eyes.

"Bambi I have something to tell you."

I looked at him in anticipation waiting.

"I have a girlfriend named Veronica, and.... she doesn't want us to be friends anymore...."

I jolted at that statement.

"Wha...what do you mean....?"

"I mean we can't be friends anymore Bambi. She doesn't like you because you're quiet. I also just don't like being the only person you cling to."

Tears started to well up in my eyes as Aaron said those words. My heart broke in half. I had lost my only friend. As I was crying softly Aaron scoft.

"Stop it you baby. This was a long time coming. Grow a pair. I'm leaving find your own ride home."

I stood up as Aaron turned his back to me. I watched his figure move farther from me. My knees buckled and I fell to the cold ground. I started to cry and weep. My sadness started turning into anger. I clenched my fists tight and threw his bong into the lake and burning the rest of the stuff we had at the sight. As I watched it all turn to ash I could hear light music. It was soothing something a child would like. I closed my eyes and felt the cold breeze against my cheeks. I pivoted on my heel and turned around. I started to walk when I stepped in a dark puddle. It started to smell and I lifted my heal. On the bottom was thick red liquid. The music I had been hearing started to get louder as the sky started pouring down the same red liquid.

I sat there in confusion as the red substance dripped on my cheek. It wasn't long until I heard footsteps in the forest. I scoped out the entire forest and waited. Maybe it was Aaron and maybe he would be sorry. But the music got closer and closer. I started to shake as I heard the sound of a music box turner squeak each time it was turned. At that moment I ran as fast as I could back home. My tears mixing with the red rain. I jumped into the lobby of the hotel and ran into the elevator. I could still hear the music and covered my ears. As soon as I reached my floor I flew into my hotel room and locked the door. I ran into the bathroom to wash off the red rain.

As I looked in the mirror something seemed off. There was no hint of red on me at all. The music had stopped once I entered the bathroom. After a couple minutes I had remembered that Aaron had breathed smoke into my face. I could've inhaled some by accident. I sighed in relief and showered. I changed into my pajamas and sat on the bed watching TV until my parents got home. I glanced outside and I hitched my breath. Outside was a white rose covered in red splotches with an envelope placed next to it. I opened the balcony door and grabbed the envelope. There was a red spot on the bottom. I opened the envelope and the letter inside. It read:

Hello sunshine,

I saw you crying in the forest. What a beautiful sound you make when sad. It pained me to watch you suffer at that boy's hand. My dear there is so much more out here than you think. Sweet orange blossom I taint this white rose for you. I will come for you soon.

And a signature at the bottom faded by the red liquid. I took a peak in the envelope. Inside were big, bulging, blue eyes. They were Aarons. I broke down and cried terrified. What is happening to me?
