Jain gazed out the window, not looking at anything in particular. He could hear his history teacher droning on and on about the Ancient Greeks, although the lesson was in the very back of his mind, not getting much notice from the day-dreaming Jain.

He could sit for hours simply letting his mind wander, neither knowing nor caring where it went. To Jain, this was a sort of relief from life itself; a pit stop for collecting the bits and pieces that may have been shattered and broken off and left behind from the whole of himself during the stress met during even the simplest of day-to-day activities.

Jain's desk was being kicked, literally jolting his mind back from wherever it was. Probably on a train ride to the concept of emotions and what the hell they actually were. Jain glanced in the direction of the kick, which was towards his friend Smay.

Smay was nodding at a piece of paper that must have been dropped on Jain's desk while he was zoning out. A note? Smay was passing notes now? This was new. Jain eagerly opened it up, receiving a sharp intake of breath from Smay which presumably meant that he had better be quieter in opening the note that he shouldn't even have in the first place (notes were incredibly prohibited in Mr. Kyler's classroom, unless you wanted it posted on a bulletin board for all to see) or else she wasn't waiting for him outside another detention ever again. Yes she will, Jain thought, smiling knowingly to himself. She always does, no matter how much trouble I get in or how many times she threatens to stop waiting.

Recognizing the handwriting of the note's sender, and noticing with a sigh of disappointment that it wasn't from Smay, he pretended to read it then smirked in Smay's direction. Seeing her inquiring glance, he realized that she didn't know who it was from, and quickly wiped the smirk off his face. Teasing her was one thing, but keeping secrets was entirely different.

"Something you wish to share with the class, Mr. Brickvy? Miss Rurchel?" Jain should have known better than to openly share glances with Smay. Pressing his hand on top of the note and effectively hiding it, Jain thought of a quick lie, knowing that it would get him a bitter scolding from Smay after class.

"Sorry sir, I was only asking Smay if she needed any help with the lesson after school today. Because, if she did, I'm sure I could help. Your lecture today was very informative and-"

"Why, thank you for the compliment Mr. Brickvy. However-" Mr. Kyler walked over to Jain's desk and planted his hand next to Jain's. "Would you mind explaining why you slapped the desk? Anything you happen to be hiding? Hm?"

Damn. Kyler was good. Jain sighed and lifted his hand from the unread note. The rest of history class went as to be expected, the note being hung on the bulletin board with a sticky note saying that it was intended for Jain Brickvy and the sender was unknown, and Jain receiving a detention. He glanced at Smay sheepishly and received a vicious glare in return. Jain sent a smirk right back at her. Smay rolled her eyes.

I have this thing, where I find it immensely difficult to finish any stories. I though WattPad would help me with this, cause I can update in parts and I don't have to post it all at once. But being me I'll find a way to get out of this. Hope not, cause this seems like a fairly promising story line. Ha. I don't even know what the story line is and is going to be. Whatevers. (That's why the category is 'other'.)

Note to self: Listening to pandora while writing gives the style a slightly poetic feel.

Or maybe that's normal. Ah well. Here it is anyway! Enjoy. And maybe I'll actually get to a finishing point in this one....
