Three New Faces
{The writer has three sources: imagination, observation, and experience. -William Faulkner}
Feeling super hungry because I missed breakfast due to running late. Managed to convince Renne to come with me to the cafeteria, fingers crossed that there won't be a long line. Hoping for a quick and easy meal!
Cafeteria filled with commotion. Lots of people, and I panicked at the thought of a long wait. But students were gathered, looking at something.
Curiosity got the best of me, and I moved forward.
Three males stood in a triangle, facing each other, analyzing the surroundings. High-maintenance vibes.
"Wait! Am I admiring them?" I questioned myself.
"They are so handsome!" a girl from our class shouted.
"Yeah, I can see that," I blushed on my own thoughts.
"I like the one with green eyes," another girl said.
"Yeah, me too. It's rare to see this eye color," her friend added.
Never saw someone with green eyes, so I looked, but the guy I was observing had blue eyes, beautiful nonetheless. The green-eyed one had his back turned.
"I think I'm in love with him," one girl confessed.
"He's mine!" the other claimed.
"I like the other two; they seem very handsome and . Do you think they are brothers?" one girl pondered.
"Yeah, they definitely are," her friend agreed.
"Are they new students?" a girl wondered.
"Maybe. I've never seen them before," another replied.
"I hope they are students here." Excitement filled their voices.
"Yeah, at least we'll have something new to see and talk about."
"I'm so excited!" they jumped with joy.
"Wouldn't it be great if that guy with green eyes is in our class?" I heard someone say.
I stopped to listen, realizing they were in my class.
"I think the guy's name is Jared," she informed.
"How do you know that?" another girl asked.
"I heard one of the twin guys calling him by that name."
"Jared," she said.
I stopped eavesdropping and glanced at the guy they mentioned. Good physique, but his back faced me, leaving me disappointed.
"What are you looking at?" Renne asked, standing beside me.
Forgot about her. "Nothing. Let's go eat," I replied.
"You're the one who was staring at them. Are you interested?" she teased.
Ignored her and asked, "What do you want to have?"
"As if our cafeteria has lots of varieties," she laughed.
"I'll have Ramen and coke," I said. Ramen was a favorite, and our cafeteria served it well.
"Here's your Ramen and coke," Renne said.
"Thank you. You're a sweetheart," I hugged her.
"You're welcome," she replied.
"What are you having?" I asked.
"Pizza," she replied, ordering a big pizza with fish toppings.
"Don't get how you eat this. Who has fish toppings on pizza?" I frowned.
She shrugged.
"Want some coke?" I offered.
"Just a sip, babe," she said.
That's how our day ended, returning to our dorm. But in my mind, curiosity lingered about the green-eyed man, Jared.
