Lycanthrope or, more commonly known as, the werewolf is a rare species and lives far and in-between. They are all over the world and are hidden from modern civilization: unseen and unheard. They've maintained their privacy for so long as a result of their nature of compliance. They are instilled with this necessity of obedience to extant, amongst humankind and each other. Therefore making obedience one of the pillars that constitutes harmony amongst these fabled, primal and strict beings.
Another defining pillar is strength. An aspiring wolf or an established alpha have these important attributes which constitutes bravery and power, alongside other important qualities. Allowing them to become or maintain more than the mediocity of a regular werewolf's stature to lead a community. Depending on the circumstances, some alphas tap more into their wild side, making them less tolerant of disobedience. However, some are more in touch to their humane side and have more empathy.
It is in a common werewolves' nature to adhere and follow what is told of them to do and how to be. However, exceptional werewolves experience a war between their nature and self whilst oppressing all logic they've ever known/been taught, leading them to disobey to become alpha. This struggle is normal but not for everyone. One such exception would be a werewolf girl who was born and raised in a small, unsuspecting tribe: Ruby Hanna. Unbeknowst to the werewolves around her, she had a more-than-typical opposition to superiority.
Remarkably, she had no struggle to defy anyone, no worry for the opposite's pride and she never did.
