Leading Me On

I promised this is the last chapter.

Ava.

Last time you heard from me was when my bum ass baby father left me after he fucked me so good. I couldn't believe I fell for the trap. Still til this day, he is still Odell. Nothing has changed about this man.

Right now I was getting my house together for Everleigh's 5th birthday. I couldn't believe my baby was 5 years old. My boyfriend Patrick went to get her cake for me.

I invited Odell and his plus one. I didn't care if he had a girlfriend or not. None of that phase me at all. I just want what best for Odell, and that he maintain a relationship with Everleigh. Everyone was finally showing up. There were lots of gifts and I knew my baby would be happy once she see I threw her a surprise party.

Patrick came in with the cake and I couldn't thank him enough. Every time I look at Patrick, I thank the Lord everyday for blessing a man like him into my life. He makes me so happy, and that he always put Everleigh and I his first priority. The littlest things he do makes me fall in love with him even more. He treats Everleigh like she is his kid. Sometimes, I wished he was her daddy.

Little do Patrick know, I am having his first baby. I found out last month when I realized I didn't have a period. So today is the day I will announce it to them since they keep asking for a baby. This will keep Odell out my hair because he still be flirting with me like I don't got a man.

Patrick came up to me and smiled. I couldn't be even more happier. He leaned in, and pulled my lips closer to his. We kissed for about a minute or two until we heard a voice.

"Hey Ava!"

We looked over to see who it was and it was Odell. I just waved, and got myself together.

"Hey Dell, how are you?"

He ain't really wanna say anything because he his focused was on Patrick. He probably wondering why he is here. I didn't owe him no explanation on why my man is here.

I took the gift out his hand and told Patrick to go start the grill up so we could get the food on. You know damn well Odell following me like a damn dog.

"Why is your boyfriend here?" he asked. Just as I was hoping he wouldn't do right now. I just ignored him as much as I could.

The birthday girl was finally here and everyone screaming "Surprise" and I am back here dealing with her dumbass daddy.

Hours went on by and Everleigh is having the time of her life. She's having so much fun. I went to the bathroom. As I am coming out, there go her daddy.

"We need to talk Ava."

"NO we don't. You seriously need leave me alone" As I was trying to walk past him. He grabbed my wrist and had me up against the wall. He doesn't understand he still has his ways with me and be making me feen for him.

"Ava, I want our family back. I miss you and Everleigh." he said as he was staring deeply into my eyes. Little did I know Patrick was down the hall watching on.

We leaned in and kissed. I felt nothing in the kiss. "I knew we still had that spark." he said

I looked at him and all I could do was think of Patrick and this unborn baby inside of me. I refused to go down that path that my parents and grandparents went down.

" Dell, I felt nothing in that kiss. You are the primary reason why I don't wanna come back to you. I refused to let you keep leading me on as if we have a future together. You and I are just co-parents to Everleigh and that's all we will ever be. You don't love me the way you say you do.

I am tired of being your puppet and waiting on you to change your act so we can actually be a family. You blew that. I am so happy with who I am with. Nothing you can say or do can change that. Yes he is white, but that ass sure do know how to keep a girl on her toes.

He takes care of your duties as you should more often but you're too busy playing football like you don't have a child to tend too. I love Patrick and only Patrick." I explained in one breathe.

"By the way, Patrick and I are expecting a baby. Goodbye Odell. Take care of your daughter." I said as I was walking away.

I was walking towards the steps and noticed Patrick was standing there.

"You heard everything?"

All he did was nod and then he smiled. "We're going to have a baby?" he asked as I smiled really hard. We kissed and went downstairs.

We told everyone the news and Everleigh couldn't be more than excited!

This was the last chapter to "Leading Me On". I am really thinking about making that into a book!
