Chapter 3

"Hmmmm, not paying attention in class on your first day. Not the best first impresion. I'll be keeping a close eye on you from now on"

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING

I sighed. Saved by the bell.

~Lunch~

I met up with Tracy and we sat ate our lunch on the roof or 'in our den' as we liked to call it. Yes, you can still be a kid when you're 16! Don't judge us. No one else comes up here so we can talk about whatever we wanted and didn't have to worry about it. Tracy suddenly started to talk - breaking the silence.

"You know that new boy, the older one."

"Yeah"

"Do you know what his name is?"

"hmmm...I think I heard JunHong calling him 'Jong' something"

"Okay..."

*awkward silence*

"Do you have a crush on him?" I said with a huge grin forming on my face.

"NO! Like you said before, you cannot judge peo-"

"yeah, yeah, yeah i know. It's just that the fact that you've been staring at him ALL DAY and blushing like crazy when he walks past you kinda made me think that you did."

At this her face went scarlet.

"...i wan't staring at him all day"

"Yes, yes you were"

We both burst out laughing and stayed like that untill the bell signalling the end of lunch rang.

~End Of School~

After waving goodbye to Tracy, i made my way down the steps towards a familiar black car.

However, before i could start towards it, a familiar voice called my name.

"Luna~"

Rolling my eyes, I saw JunHong calling my name and skateboarding to catch up with me.

"So, I was wondering if you could maybe think about grabbing a coffee or somthing sometime maybe? I don't know my way around here yet so maybe you could show me aroun a bit?"

He blushed furiously and scratched the back of his neck.

"Yeah sure! That would be great! When?" It would be nice to go somewhere with someone who wasn't Tracy or Kai for a change.

"Um...later today?"

"Oh, um, I can't do today. Sorry." I replied, remembering that I was going round Kai's today. He said that he wanted to introduce me to some people - what ever that means. His face dropped like a stone.

"But I can do tomorrow! Then you could ask your friend to come and I'll ask Tracy too!" I hastily added. Instantly, his face lit up again and a cute smile broke out on his face.

"Yaaaaaay~"

And with that, he waved goodbye and sped off on his skateboard towards his friend.

I walked to Kai's car and hopped in.

"Hey~" I pecked him on the cheek but he only stared forward in reply.

"Hello?"

"Who was that?" He asked, face like stone. His eyes were still glued to the front. Finally, I worked out what he was staring at.

"Just a friend. He only just joined the school today."

"Hmmm..." Was all i got in return. Avoiding my eye, he turned to the front and we drove off.

He lived alone in a two story house but it was by no means fancy. It wasn't a dump either. It had a small kitchen that linked to the dining room. The living room was cozy and had a sofa, tv and a little coffee table. After walking up a small flight of wooden stairs, you come to a tiny corridor with three doors: the first door leads to a bathroom with a sink, mirror, toilet, shower and bath; the second door held a guest room with a single bed, table and seat; and the third and final door opened up to reveal Kai's room - it had a king-sized bed mirror, table, carpet and wardrobe.

Since he had no job - as far as I knew - I once asked him how he could afford this house and furniture. He simply gave me one of his signature death glares and told me to mind my own business. Yeah...he can sometimes be a bit rude.

Today, he lead me to the front door and pulled me inside. It was quite an uneventful evening, until he came into the living room to find me on my phone.

Taking me by surprise, he snatched my phone out of my hand and started scrolling through the texts. Because of my height, my attempts to jump to get my phone back failed...terribly.

"Hey~ give it back!"

"No, I wanna know who you've been texting."

He then proceded to scroll through my contacts. A wide smirk broke out on his face.

"You loner, you only have 3 contacts."

"Well that's because a certain someone told me not to have any other contacts except from you, my mum andTracy"

"Well we both know why that was, don't we. Sit down, shorty."

A few months ago, Kai got really angry at me for texting one of my guy-friends. He accused me of flirting with him when all we were talking about was the math homework. Since then, he said that I wasn't alloud any other contacts on my phone except from his, Tracy's (that took a bit of persuading) and my mum's.

"No"

"What?"

"No, i don't wanna sit down."

"You're pushing you're luck, Luna"

"Do I look like I care?"

And that's when he snapped.

"Get out."

"What?"

"Get the hell out of my house, Luna"

"But I live 2 miles awa-"

"Then run, stupid! You need to work off that fat anyway!"

With that I grabbed my bag, opened the door and sprinted out of the room. Tears cascaded down my face and the wind rushed through my hair. I ran all the way home, stopping for a bit in the middle to call my mum and say that I was comeing home early.

He had never done anything like that before. I guess it was my fault - i did push it too far.

When I reached home, I dropped my bag off and - ignoring my mum's questioning - went straight up to my room.

Standing infront of the mirror, I lifted up my shirt to see my stomach. Jeez, I can see what Kai was talking about. I was fat. A small tear slipped down my pale face. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't eat anything for dinner so I just got into my PJs and went to sleep. However, as I was drifting off, a great idea popped into my head:

If I don't eat, I'll lose weight. If I lose weight, Kai will no longer be mean to me.
