Darkness. Both the world right now and my mind was full of it. I.... who am I? Where is everything I am? Where am I?
Then, a single memory came flooding back into my head.
A letter. An acceptance letter. Hope's Peak. It was from them.

=DATADATA REDACTED" was what looked like a signature, but it was too hard to read. It was official, I had won the lottery to be in this school of elite students. But shouldn't a school be a bit less dark than this?

Out of the darkness, there was a small... tablet looking device. Instinctively, I grabbed it. Engraved on the back was the word 'MonoPad.' Its small screen clicked on. It was bright and for a minute or so, hurt my eyes, but I was finally able to read it normally after a while to adjust to its brightness.

There were many people. According to the top of the page, they were my new classmates.
