Chapter 4 (Introduction pt.2)

"Ahem"
A feminine voice fake cleared her throat to get our attention.

Louis quickly shot up from his half of the seat, I followed after him.
"OH hey -" he began, before he was cut off.

"You're up. Minnie told me you'll be in here. I never got the chance to see or meet you." She said; with a slightly cold tone. She approached slowly.
"Did Louis give you your bag yet?" she asks, before she stares at my cheek for a while with a weird look on her face. Most probably at the horizontal scar I got back when everything went bad. She stared as if she was analysing my features.

I'm actually now not to sure if this is the right Clem. I-I mean, Clementine is a common name, RiGhTt?? If it was the right Clem I'd think she'll remember me. I'm tripping. She doesn't even look the same. Unrecognisable. But them eyes..

With that, I noticed her semi-bright Amber eyes. Those same freaking amber eyes I felt so at peace with.

I focused on her features more and it hit me hard. I saw instant resemblance from her to HER 9 years ago. I instantly averted my gaze once my eyes water at my sudden realisation.

It is Clementine.

Don't cry. SNAP OUT OF IT, IDIOT.

"I- Uh, don't worry, I got it," I managed to choke out after a lump was already forming in my throat.

After eyeing out my bag that was on the floor near an old couch, I head over to where my bag was on the floor and unzipped it to hopefully find my hat- I mean.. Clem's hat. I'd say, I get a pass for claiming it seeing how clingy I was towards it after all these years. But after all it was still hers truely. Her dad, Ed, had given it to her before all of this shit in the world happened.

I look at it for a brief second before grabbing it and tracing the 'D', placed on the centre of the cap once, with my index. I held it close to me because I knew it's probably going to be my last time with it. Knowing what My next moves were I put my bag on my back, stood up then faced the teens. I held the cap in my hand, smiling sadly. I instantly took note of  Clem's wide Amber eyes going back and forth between my eyes and her hat. She looked pale and I could see her trembling.

"Long time, no see, Clem."

Her eyes water.

*Clems thoughts*
But.. She looks so different. Unrecognisable. Emotionless. Cold.

"I-I thought you were dead." Her voice; dejected, and trembling.

I didn't say anything after that, still in shock. Before I knew it she was slowly making her way towards me, and eventually she pulled me into a hug. In the warm embrace of my long lost friend, I hear her ever so light sobs close to my ear. I don't know what to do. I try to hug her back but my hands are frozen by my side and trembling.

Lee. What do i do now? I've finally found her.

"Clem I-I'm so sorry. I should have tried harder to find you b-but when I saw your hat I just.. I just broke. I'm so--" I say as she's still smothering me. Tears daring to fall from my eyes as i try blink them away. But in the end, I can't, and they fall down my face against my will as my eyebrows furrowed once I felt i've lost in trying to hold them back.

"shh... It's okay Y/N. It's okay. I thought I lost you to the horde. Everything happened too fast." Clem cut me off in hope to calm me down. A deep remorse sank in her. She let go of me and took a step back and I copied her move.
