Sarah's POV

"I'm going to miss you two so much !" I said starting to cry.It was the morning of my move to California. Right now I live in Vermont but my dad's company is expanding and he got a promotion so we're forced to move across the country. I mean I don't mind because it's better for us financially but I'm going to miss all of what I had here. I don't like change at all so it'll most likely be awkward my whole year.
I'm 17, 5'6 jet black hair down the middle of my back and hazel eyes. Oh and I'm mixed. My dad is white and my mom is black and Puerto Rican . Other than that there's nothing really special about me. I used to be big but I lost weight about 2 summers ago and now constantly at the gym. I decided to change myself because I wasn't happy at all and to be honest, I still don't like what I see but whatever. I started getting attention from guys ever since then but I know they just want to take advantage of my goodies. I've had 2 serious boyfriends. The first lasted a month so that doesn't really count and the other was about 4 months and he cheated so you see my luck in that department. Then I lost weight and he tried to apologize but I was over that.
I'm going to miss my best friends Jon and Sherrie the most. We've been together ever since 3rd grade. Jon was like our protector and now I'll have no one at all. My parents claim I'll make friends in no time but I doubt it.
"Sarah you know we'll be together soon enough. It's only a year and we still have vacations." Jon said trying to calm me down. I plan on going to school with them starting in the fall.
"My babyyyyyyyy !!!!" Sherrie screamed embracing me in a hug. We're both big cry babies. Jon rolled his eyes and joined in on the group hug.
"I'm going to call every moment I get." I said to them.
"Promise ?" Sherrie asked.
"Promise." And in a 3 way pinky promise that was it.
"Sarah, it's time to go sweetheart." My mother chimed in.
"Okay guys I'll talk to you soon." I waved goodbye and got in the car with my parents. I turned back to see Sherrie crying on Jon's shoulder and him rubbing her back.
Because we have 2 cars, we're driving one and the other is being shipped to our new address. Yes we are driving across country. My parents are those type of people. My patience usually runs low on these trips.
"99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer, take one down pass it around 98 bottles of beer on the wall." My dad started to sing as we pulled off. Oh my god, this is going to be a longggg trip.
We started on the road and I tried to get in the mindset of this whole situation. It's supposed to be a bigger house, add another car (hopefully it's mine) and this school is supposedly huge. I hope I make at least one friend. Maybe if you actually talk to someone. Rude much. As soon as we were well on our way, I turned on my own music and stared out the window.
This is going to be a long, long trip.
