I woke up the next morning with vampires on the brain, I was finally glad the weekend had come. For some strange reason the words of Freddie played over and over in my head. As I walked down the stairs I tried to put another image in my mind. I walked in the kitchen to find Aaron sitting at the kitchen table chowing down on a piece of toast.

"So let me find out that your eating my breakfast." I said giving him a small nudge.

"Wow I thought you were never going to wake up," he said ignoring my remarks.

"Well if it wasnt for your annoying voice I would have still been sleep." I retorted back at him.

He ignored my comment with a low huff. I sat down in my chair.while mom put my plate on the table.

"So are you ready for school today?" my mom asked with a smile.

I hesitated before answering "U-um sure mom of course I'm  ready to step into the dark side."

She looked at me for a second as if she was trying to figure out what I was thinking. Before she could answer my dad walked in with a look of concern on his face.

"Dad what's with the face?" I asked him quietly.

"Nothing I just don't know what to do about a case im working on." He replied

"O ok" I said looking down finishing the rest of my food.

I got up from the table grabbed my bag and headed to the bus stop. I couldn't stop the thoughts in my mind as I boarded the bus. I scanned the us looking for Aaron who I spotted in the back as usual staring off into space. I walked and sat next to him. We rode to school in silence even though he wasn't talking I knew that Aaron had a lot on his mind. We arrived at school to see a big crowd gathered in the courtyard. Sealy High was a very small school with even smaller rooms so it wasn't hard to find out what was going on. I got off the bus and headed to the crowd when I felt a hand on my shoulder. As I turned around I came face to face with sparkling eyes of Jason.

"Hey Jess can I talk to you?"

"Sure what's up Jason?" I said trying not to stutter.

"Well you know that I was going out with Jenny but we broke up last night because of Freddie Swang ---"

"Wait Freddie, how is that possible?" I said cutting him off in an instant.

"Well he filled her head up with nonsense about me being a loser and no good, but I wanted to ask you if you could maybe hang out with me so we could talk more..."

I couldn't stop the smile that spread across my face. "wow of course"

"well here's my number call me sometimes ok" He said as he handed me a piece of paper and walked away.

Just when I thought I was going to have a good day flashes of what Freddie told me came into my mind. I can't help but wonder why Freddie would want to break them up. The thoughts of Freddie swam through my mind all day. I have to say the thought that Freddie broke them up because he wanted Jenny made my stomach turn. I went through the rest of the day smoothly. As I got on the bus I spotted Jenny flirting with Aaron. In the back of my mind I wondered what she was trying to pull but I knew I couldn't control what Aaron thought either. He liked Jenny just as much as I liked Jason. I watched as Jenny pecked Aaron on the cheek and pranced away. The ride home was quiet and peaceful and the only thing on my mind was a shower and sleep.
