Rich man's prayer

1 1 0

I had everything,
The house ,cars , name and fame ,
Nothing could stop me ,
Nothing ever did.
Servants waiting at my doorstep,
Following my commands.
I felt like I was ruling , conquering,
Like a king ,
Everything given on my demand.

My miserable blunder however, lied in that one day ,
When I called myself God .

That pride marked my last day of happiness,
Realized all what I had was just a pile of dust ,
Which karma so dexterously blew away.
There's power and then there's humility,
Wisdom in a man will direct him to choose both ,
Realizing how ludicrous I was ,
I sob ,
But the pain doesn't let me ,its too much to cry on,
And so I wait,
For my last day of misery ,
I await for the very one I impersonated,
To set me free.

This is a short story of a very rich man who felt he had everything and was boastful of his success . Time took a disastrous toll on his health and he remorses on how things could have gone better if he had a kinder heart .

What i wish to tell you guys is that money doesn't  always buy you happiness,  maybe sometimes happiness might be sleeping peacefully with the ones you love knowing with some certainty that you have a tomorrow . Pride and wealth can kill, unless they are put to good use .
