yoongi walked into the lecture room ten minutes late. fashionably late. he had been preoccupied with prying open his broken locker, that he didn't really notice the time until it was too late. fashionably late. abandoning his locker, the boy tugged his sleeves down past his wrists and pulled his backpack over his shoulders before beginning a brisk walk in what he hoped was the general direction of the physics lecture hall.
the corridors were lined with lockers and encrusted with dirt that had accumulated over the years. the university had been in operation for fourty-something years and the lack of maintenance was beginning to become a problem. as yoongi kept walking he noticed a group of girls looking his way, obviously muttering with each other. he simply ignored them and increased his pace towards the lecture hall.
when he walked into the room, around forty pairs of eyes were focused on him for a brief moment before looking away, not paying much attention to the quiet boy who had just burst through the door. yoongi flicked his head to the side in an attempt to get his overgrown bangs out the way and began to climb up the stairs, headed for the very back of the room. he gazed up and noticed that the professor was talking to a student in the corner. yoongi didn't like to call him weird, but there wasn't really any other way to describe him. he was always sitting alone and staring at the ground.
yoongi let himself fall down into one of the cushioned chairs at the very back of the room, several meters to the right from the boy. he opened his phone and began recording the lecture so that he could listen back to it at a later point. he repositioned his sleeves across his forearms and looked around. the small table in front of him was covered in crumbs, presumably from the previous students sandwich. he blew away the stray pieces of leftover food off of the wooden surface and rested his head against it, his hair acting as a pillow to slightly cushion himself with. his eyelids began to get heavy and eventually he began to doze off, not paying any attention to the lesson going on that was surrounding him.
yoongi could sense a pair of eyes staring into the back of his head. he had an idea of who it could be. maybe jennie, the girl who had been crushing on him since the beginning of the year. it didn't matter how many times yoongi ignored her text messages, pushed her away whenever she attached herself to his arm or deliberately ignored her in the hallways; she just couldn't take the hint that yoongi wasn't interested. she was rather popular, although jennie was actually quite well-known around campus for her reputation of being a bit of a bitch. he suddenly snapped his neck up in the direction of jennie, planning to flip her off and tell her to stop fucking staring, but when he looked up he was slightly surprised, and mostly relieved, to see the girl paying no attention to him and looking at a group of boys laughing nearer to the front of the classroom.
the professor was having a conversation with a student who seemed to look very embarrassed, his chubby cheeks were flushed pink.
he turned his head slightly to face the group of boys on the other side of the room, and let himself listen to the conversation they were currently having with the professor.
