"All that blood looks good on you, you know, it really brings out your eyes."
For the millionth time, I cursed myself for having bright green eyes, people always commented on it! "There's more to me than just my eyes, you know that right?!"
"I do," he chuckled, "It's just that they look good mixed with red and blonde."
"He's right about that," Bianca added, "with your pale complexion, it makes you stand out even more."
"I don't want to stand out, that is horrible remember?" It's honestly terrible, we're all assassins and we've all killed people. Yet all they think about every time they see me kill someone is that it makes me stand out even more. The problem is then that the cops also know that I stand out. Well, the cops would know that, if we left witnesses for them.
"We know, but you know that no one ever sees us, we're just that good!" Harry has always been the confident one. The only one that kept our spirits high, the one that just knew what we should do.
"There could've been a camera!"
"Now you're just fishing for excuses, Chloe. We always pick the alleyways without cameras, you know that!" I sighed, I knew Bianca was right, I just wish people would stop commenting on the way I look. My appearance isn't everything about me, I've got skills too.
"It's fishing for compliments and looking for excuses, not a mix of both."
"Yeah, sure, tell the immigrant that she says something wrong! That's just mean!" Harry snorted, he always loved it when Bianca and Thomas fought. To be honest, we all did. There was just some unresolved sexual tension and it was fun to watch.
"I just wanted to help! You won't learn English if you don't listen to my help!" Bianca just stuck her tongue out. Whoever said that assassins were all tough, has clearly never met us.
"Come on, guys. Stop wasting time, we're still in the open!" That was Anastasia, or Sargeant as we call her. She was just that terrifying, probably because she has been in this business for decades. Some people even say that she has been here since the start, she doesn't look that old, but she certainly has the experience.
"Loosen up, Sargeant, we've finished the job already, we'll get the money in two days and then we can relax."
"Or we just get another job and never rest."
"If that is what you want, Bianca." She rolled her eyes, but we all knew that she was right. Thomas could wish for a break anytime he wanted, but we usually only got one after a year or so. That's not because there are that many clients. We're not that kind of assassins, we're good assassins. Everything we do has a purpose.
"Be quiet!" Sighing we all got in line. We had a specific line for getting out of an alley, a way to get out so that no one would pay attention to us. It would grab someone's attention if all five of us just got out of here at the same time. The first one would leave the alley on their own, they would pretend to be disgusted by something and in a hurry. The ones covered in blood would get the ski mask and would've to find a way out on their own, usually on the roof or as the last of the group. Either Bianca or I would put an arm around Harry or Thomas and would pretend to be a drunk couple that wanted to hook up somewhere. It worked most of the time.
"Alright, I leave first, B, T, wait at least fifteen minutes and leave then. Oh, please don't forget to adjust your clothes a little, you two need to look as if you just hooked up. Not like the night is just getting started."
"I never start a night looking normal, I'm always a little drunk." That was the thing about Harry, he was confident and completely sucked at whispering. Every instructor at the academy knew that no one had expected him to actually graduate from school.
"I know that Harry!" That look could've killed him, the Sargeant was known for her looks of displeasure.
"Everyone ready?" Four nods followed and we all left in the right order. Leaving nothing but the body of a rapist behind. Like I told you, we're the good guys, we only kill people who really deserve it and this guy raped three little girls. If there was anybody that deserved to die, it was him.
