Oh, how had it all gone so wrong so inexplicably fast?
Adrien bolted up the stairs, the hollow slap of his sneakers against the marble racing after him along with his father's threat, echoing and plugging his ears until all he could hear was the claim.
"DON'T RUN AWAY FROM ME!"
He stumbled, but caught himself and continued his escape, running and running even though it felt like he was getting nowhere. He had to fight the urge to upchuck his lunch, which was gnawing at him nauseatingly.
But now Gabriel was gaining on him, charging like a bull in a china shop. He threw items off of their shelves and darted skillfully around his assistants, cursing and yelling like a madman.
