"Slytherin!" Vanessa was shocked over the sorting hat's decision. A Slytherin? Her father's side of the family had been Hufflepuffs. Her father, her uncle, and her aunt: their parent's, their grandparents, even her cousin, Stephanie sat at the Hufflepuff table, shock on her face, as she clapped for her baby cousin. Her mother's had been a Pukwudgie in Ilvermorny even and her father always said that was the house closest to Hufflepuff!

Nessa had been so certain she'd be a Hufflepuff just as her family was that she didn't know what to do with the plan B that had been thrust in her face. The sorting hat had even said her whole family was in Hufflepuff and she would do well there too, so why was it that she was going from the most accepting of the Hogwarts houses to the least accepting. Nessa didn't remember her feet taking her from the stool in the front of the Great Hall to the Slytherin Table, but next thing she knew, there was a grand banquet in front of her.

"You're a Slytherin as well?" Nessa turned her head to see the boy from the train earlier. He had been a little rude, but Nessa hadn't minded. She had been the one to bother him first when asking him a question. Nessa just accepted that he was having a bad day, said her thanks, and moved on.

"Apparently. Although the rest of my family were Hufflepuffs. I'm the first to break the streak."

"Well Slytherin isn't too bad. My whole family were Slytherins. If your family is all Hufflepuff than they should be alright with whatever house you're in. What's your name?"

"Vanessa. Vanessa Fawley."

"I'm Draco. Draco Malfoy. You're a pureblood, why haven't we met before?"

"We've just recently moved back from America. My cousin, Delilah, started out at Ilvermorny and was sorted last year. This is my first year and we're still trying to find a social standing here." She answered him honestly. While being a pureblood wasn't high on the list of the Fawley's priorities, Vanessa's mother and father were indeed purebloods who married to preserve the lineage. Vanessa wasn't sure if they meant fir her to do the same, but her mother was from a pureblood family in America: The Edwards.

"Oh, the American Pureblood.... Edwards, wasn't it."

"Yes, my mother is Genévrier Edwards and my father is Appuis Fawley."

"My father mentioned your father. They went to school together although he did say he was the only family, besides the Abbotts, to land in Hufflepuff. He never had any issues with your father. Seems to be rather glad of his return in fact."

"I'll tell my father to reach out then. Lord knows mother will need friends here since hers are all in America."

"Good," He smiled. "Mom could use the company as well."

"Draco!!" We both turned to see a girl switching seats with the guy on his other side.

"Hello, Pansy." His tone became politely disinterested. She hugged him quickly and shot daggers towards Vanessa.

"Who is this?" She asked haughtily.

"This is Vanessa Fawley. Vanessa, this is Pansy Parkinson. She is also a member of the sacred 28." He said letting Pansy know in that moment that her and Vanessa and even, himself, were on even footing.

"How do you do?" Vanessa Greeted. "I am Vanessa Fawley. I've just moved back to England from America, so I hope we can be friends." Pansy snooty look never wavered.

"America you say? Who is your mother?"

"Genévrier Edwards."

"Edwards? As in the same American Edwards who, not only own the Fitchburg Finches, but also have their names on every set of quidditch balls around the world?" Pansy seemed impressed at this point. They hostility quickly changing to awe.

"Yes, that would be them, although we moved here to Britain and for father's new team."

"Which team is that?" Draco asked impressed.

"The Montrose Magpies. That's all I can say for now." Nessa quickly put an end to the conversation.

"Impressive..." Parkinson said still looking in awe. "Are you a quidditch player?"

"I enjoy the game. I hope to follow in my father's footsteps and manage a team one day. Delilah wants to learn to make the quidditch ball sets."

"Delilah?"

"My cousin moved with us. She's in Hufflepuff." Pansy nodded.

"You should hang out with us more." She decided. "We could always use more purebloods in our ranks and as our families will be getting closer, we'll be seeing a lot of each other." Draco nodded his head in agreement.

"Alright," Nessa said. "But please, call me Nessa. Vanessa is a mouthful." Her first friends at school. Nessa smiled to herself. Maybe being in Slytherin wouldn't be so bad after all. Nessa was never one to oppose other people, she quickly made friends where ever she went with her overly accepting attitude. She never believed anyone was inherently evil, but that outside circumstances led to them having negative emotions. So, Nessa made it her life goal to not be cross with anyone, she was sure to be kind to others so that, even if it was just once a day, they had some positive energy shown in their direction. From there, they would pass it on.

Vanessa was excited to see what the year held in store for her in her new school and new house.

A/N: I May or may not have another story in mind with a pureblood family never mentioned in Harry Potter: The Fawleys. And Yes, Draco would be the main love interest.

Vanessa Rose Fawley would be a kind Slytherin, who is resourceful and determined. While she would do well in Hufflepuff with the rest of her overly accepting family (although they try a bit harder than the Weasley''s to hide it in fear of being called Bloodtraitors and being isolated. It will show how they are kind to all, but also still have undertones from the MACUSA who were COMPLETELY segregated from No-Majs, so blood purity wasn't as big a deal and muggle borns weren't really discriminated against. It'll show the undertones of blood purity as well. I.E: Nessa will be expected to marry a pureblood, but she'll have the choice of who, rather than an arranged marriage ordeal. Pretty much how I see the Weasleys if Mr. Weasley weren't nearly so obsessed with Muggle artifacts. To them, Muggles aren't beneath them, nor are they an eyesore. They're just overly accepting of different situations.

Still HEAVILY a WIP.
