Arthur watched from afar, John and Abagail. He knew she didn't really love John, Arthur did.
Of course Arthur could never admit this to John, he didn't want to ruin their friendship. He was his dearest friend after all. But today, Arthur had decided he couldn't wait any longer, he didn't want to be just friends anymore.
After John had left Abagail, Arthur took action.
"Hey Johnny" Arthur greeted, his eyes fixated onto John's. "Hey Arthur" John greeted back, staring up at him with an amused smiled. "I saw you and Abagail talking, were you fightin' over something?" Arthur asked. John sighed and looked down. "She just doesn't understand why I do this, why I'm an outlaw" John explained. Arthur smiled, he loved how John never hesitated to share his personal information with him. With a slight smirk Arthur said, "Ah, I see, ya know, if she really loved you John, she would understand" John looked up at him with wide eyes. "Are you saying I should-...break up with her?" John asked. "That's for you to decide Johnny darlin' bout time you see who you're meant to be with" Arthur said, his hands tugging at John's collar before walking off.
John felt his cheeks flush, Arthur had always been his best friend, why was he suggesting to make him break up with his wife? John sighed and looked over to Arthur who was smirking at him from his tent. John then looked over to Abagail, who was always glaring at him.
Then it hit him.
Was Arthur, flirting, with him? John scratched his neck nervously, weren't they just friends? Or maybe it was something more, they did tease each other a lot, John now realizing it was in a flirting matter. Again, his cheeks burned and decided he would talk to Arthur about it later.

Night finally fell, and John had just come back from hunting a few deer. The camp was getting low on supplies. After he hitched his horse he saw Arthur was talking to Abagail. Once Arthur noticed him he smirked and walked off. Abagail sneered and crossed her arms. John walked up to her "What was that about?" He asked, Abagail giving him another glare. John sighed as she spoke, looking over to Arthur, who had his shirt unbuttoned more that usual, he had his hat off and his hair was a mess and he looked...hot. John blushed when they made eye-contact, while Arthur smirked, motioning for him to follow him.
"John, are you even listening to me!?" Abagail said suddenly, hitting his upper arm. "I-What? Listen, I gotta go okay?" John said quickly, running after Arthur.
Once he found him, Arthur was leaned against a log. "Arthur?" John asked, gulping. Arthur chuckled, "I knew you couldn't resist me" He said, John's cheeks burning for the third time that day. "I-uh" "Come sit by me Johnny darlin'" Arthur said. John nodded and sat himself on the log, next to Arthur. "So, why are we out here?" John asked, While Arthur quickly hushed him. "I have something to say" Arthur said, sitting up now. John waited anxiously.
"I- I don't wanna be friends anymore" Arthur said. John felt his heart sink a bit. "I- I'm-" Arthur cut him off again with a shush. "You didn't let me finish, I think we should be lovers instead" He confessed. John felt his whole face heat up. "I don't know how to say this because you're really my dearest friend, but I can't hold it in any longer" Arthur said, looking down. John thought about all the good times they shared, would it really make a difference if they were together? I hope not, John thought. Suddenly, John felt a rush of adrenaline and grabbed onto Arthur's collar, crashing his lips onto Arthur's. Arthur moaned in surprise, but kissed back.
"I wanna ruin our friendship," John said, "I love you Arthur" He finished. Arthur smiled and kissed him, this time it was soft.
"I love you too"
