“Is there somebody who can watch over you?” Baekhyun whispered, looking down to the sleeping girl on his lap.
She didn't stirred up when he touched her hair and tangled it in his hand softly.
“So peaceful.” He said under his breath. He stared up at the grey sky. “I have no idea why I'm delayed here. What I am supposed to do?”

It was summer when he met her. She would coming home from wherever covered in bites from bugs and they're everywhere and Hyeran totally hated it. Baekhyun found it amusing. She would sit down to put whatever cream she found useful over every single damn one.“Oh, there's one behind your neck!” Baekhyun exclaimed when he saw the red mark. She didn't seem to noticed it. “Let me help you.”
Hyeran suddenly felt a cool sensation on her skin but shrugged it, thinking it was from the cream.
A butterfly had invaded the household. It didn't seem to want any trouble. Maybe it was just lonely. Baekhyun followed it around. Slowly and carefully, because he was a little lonely too.
He was playing with Eun on the sofa when she went out from her bedroom.
She got dressed up all fancy to go out tonight and apparently he wasn't invited to tag along. He knew Eun would be glad to have him as accompany.
Baekhyun and Eun were watching curiosily from the window as Hyeran left to greet a guy.
Baekhyun thought Hyeran saw him. He felt his heart thumped with excitement because she ran back inside.
His hope depleted when she went to give a few extra pats on Eun's head before leaving again.
“How about me?” Baekhyun muttered, feeling sulky.
Baekhyun would keep on checking the time. He expected the click at the door would come eventually, but he didn't expect it to happen at midnight. Hyeran came home with tears. He was worried. Did someone break her heart?
Hyeran threw herself on to her bed, trying to be quiet but he heard her sobs anyways.
After a few minutes waiting outside, Baekhyun slowly entered the room to see her on her bed with her arms hugging her knees with her head resting on them.
He walked over to her and cautiously wrapping his arms around the crying girl. “Don't cry, it hurts for me to see you like this... Don't waste your tears for someone who doesn't deserve you.”
Baekhyun rested his cheeks on top of her head and silently prayed that rain would come sooner because she would find peace in rain.

And tonight, they were both here, admiring the low rainfall behind the transparent glass door. The memories were still vivid in his head.“I let my worries go soon as you come through the door. I feel peaceful at last. Moments I spent with you were wonderful. I hope I'll remember it forever.” he muttered.
A soft meow responded to him. Eun emerged from the dimness of the room and sat beside him, as if he understood what Baekhyun had confessed. Eun blinked his eyes slowly when Baekhyun gazed at him. Baekhyun stretched out his hand to rub the feline's fluffy head.
“Thank you for choosing me as your friend.” A weak smile painted on his lips.
Baekhyun looked down at the sleeping girl. “If you're feeling sad, look at the sky 3 times.”
He came closer to her face, “I'm fading,” he whispered before planting a chaste kiss on the her temples.
“and I love you. Thank you for your help. It means a lot. Farewell, my dears.” he said as he closed his eyes for the last time.
The bright moonlight woke her up. She was in dazed and confusion. The towel that lied beside her on the floor caught her attention. Was it him? She stared at the moon. She felt the night was lonelier than before as if she had lost something.
The end.
