I walk into the halls of Brat High, once again. But this time I'm a senior. A lot of things have happened this past year. One of them being me being heartbroken over Johnny and his new girlfriend, Nadia. Johnny and Lexi broke up over the summer. A summer ago, they were the 'It' couple of the school newspaper. It took me a sleeve of oreos and a marathon of movies to get over that boy. "Hey, Kenzie!" I groan. "What?" It's not Johnny. It's Hayden. "I was wondering if-" "I'm not interested, Summerall." "What?" His face is visible confusion. "Oh! I'm not asking you out. I was asking for Annie's number?" "Annie?" I twist my face. "Annie LeBlanc?" "No, Annie Ziegler. Of course Annie LeBlanc!" "Oh, um, sure." I scribble it down on his phone and he smiles gratefully at me. "Thanks, Kenz!" "No problem." Well, that was awkward. I settle at my locker and stare into it. Someone's put a bouquet of roses in it. And I know who it is.
"Presley!" I scream at him. "You did this?" Isaak shakes his head. "I'm dating Lexi..?" "Oh." I nod. "Sorry." Lexi glares at me. I glare back. Yikes. Bad move. She flips her hair and gives that sweet fake smile. That's when I knew, I fucked up.
I walk slowly to homeroom with Mr. Birlem. I sit myself at a desk close to the back and pull out my phone. The latest instagram on Johnny's feed is this:
