I stood there, waiting patiently to get my items scanned. My phone took up all my focus, so when the next person was called, I payed no mind.

"Excuse me? You're next? UHm..." The boy said. I looked up at the tall blonde boy. He was cute.

"Oh... Sorry! Here..." I stuttered, pushing my objects over, searching for his name. "...Alex? I like the name."

He looked over in confusion. "It's quite common, but I'll take it. That'll be $19.69 (if you know what I mean ;^)"

"Yeah, but the name is cool. Slides right off the tongue. Anyways, would you like to...go out sometime?" I asked, looking down and waiting for his refusal.

"Sure." He said, and I looked up and smiled. Today was my lucky day.
