Canyon p.o.v

"Connie get back here!" Lola screams from down the hall. Connie scurries out of our hug and back to her mom. Today I have to pick up Connie's birthday cake before her party starts. I got in a warm shower before there was no hot water left. I dressed in casual clothes since it's a family event. A made it downstairs just in time for breakfast.

"Uncle Canyon?" a little voice whispers next to me. "Yes, Connie?" She poked at her peppered omelet and begged me with puppy eyes to eat it so she wouldn't get in trouble. I sighed and switched her omelet and my stack of pancakes. She smiled happily and dug into the heap of golden goodness. I finished the small omelet and kissed Connie on the forehead goodbye. I got in my red sports car and drove to the bakery. On my way, I admired the scenery of the route. His land is my land.

I arrived at the bakery to pick up the cake when it wasn't busy. I chose to drive by the post office and the firehouse to see if the construction I asked for was complete. Thankfully it was or I'd be hearing more complaints other than Happy Birthday dear Connie.

I made it back to the packhouse just on time for the guests to arrive.

"Everyone ready?" I asked only receiving nods. I lit the 11 candles on the cake and turned off the lights. "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Connie, Happy Birthday to you," we all sang.

Connie hesitated before blowing out the candles. She smiles evilly in my direction, I swear I saw mischief in her brown eyes. I gave her a questioning look but she ignored me over the yelps and celebratory hollers. Next was presented and I know she'll like it. My phone rang in my pocket and I excused myself for the party. "What?!" I growled over the phone to my commanding warrior. "Sorry to ring you at this time Alpha, we have a wandering female rogue on the outskirts of the territory asking for sanctuary," he said sounding worried. "Keep her contained before I come down there," I mumbled hanging up.

The party is over and Connie is in bed, the best time to get work done. I went to the basement, opening the containment room door. I shuffled confidently up to my commanding warrior and requesting the rogue in the interview/ investigation office. On my way to the office, a small beautiful smell hit my nose. That is definitely a female. I sat in my chair getting out files on the rogue.

When I looked up from my papers there she was. A brown-haired, blue-eyed girl with tears piercing her eyes. "I'm sorry, I thought this land was reserved for rogues. I keep making mistakes no wonder everyone hates me, I don't even know which Alpha you are," she confesses as more tears stream down her freckled cheeks.

"I am Alpha Canyon of the Sergio Dawn pack," her face paled, " I won't accept your apology but I will accept you not knowing this is my territory." My statement made her teary-eyed once more. I feel the pull to comfort her and apologize for hurting her feelings. "What your name?" I asked ruthlessly, removing the need to hug her.

She whimpered, "if I tell you would you send me back?"

"Only if you want to be sent back, who are you?"

She nodded her head and stuttered, " Pi-pe-r Wendolyn, I'm 22, a beta's daughter, "

"It says here you don't have a wolf," I said looking over the file. She squeaked, "that's right, a late bloomer that's a rogue," humming I decided to ask her about who she's running from, "Midnight frost pack bought me from my brother, the beta of daylight sun pack. I was held captive for 3 days by them until today I had help from the Alpha's nephew, Jasper," she confided.

She left me a little speechless, her brother is one of my many acquaintances, and Jasper is a family friend. "Did Jasper give you directions where to run?" She nodded, looking everywhere but my eyes. "Jasper is a great friend and if he directed you towards me... You must be innocent," I said trying to speak softer, "you can stay and join our pack. You will be protected here." Her head snapped up, her eyes meeting mine for the first time. Protection must have caught her interest, "I would love to stay," she let out a smile.

My heart skipped a beat and returned the smile. She is contagious, I led her to in the packhouse a gave her a room. "Goodnight, sleep well," I said about to walk away. Her hands wrapped around my neck as she gave me a hug. All I felt was sparks and electricity between us. Our eyes widened when we understood the meaning of the sparks. She broke away and frowned, "you knew and didn't tell me?!" I was dumbfounded by what she was going on about. "I didn't know we were mates I just found out too." Yet she didn't buy it.

"You have a wolf so you can smell my scent. You've known since we met."

My mouth made an "O" shape. She thinks I have a wolf. I started laughing at how ridiculous this is. "What's so funny?"

"You're not the only late bloomer, sweetheart." Her eyebrows scrunched together then she got what I meant. "You're a late bloomer. Just like me," she perks up, "then how can we feel the mate bond?"
I picked her up bridal style to my room, "each other, we activated our wolves, just give it time before we shift."

I sat her on my bed and went to brush my teeth. "Why are we in your room?" She squeaked out. I spit out and rinsed off my toothbrush, "this is where I sleep, where I sleep you sleep, this is why we are both in my room."

She giggles, "I am not sleeping with someone I just met!" I chuckled light-heartedly at her. I quickly picked her up and brushed the hairs off her forehead. "You're beautiful," I said leaning my head over her neck breathing in her scent, finally I  smell like a werewolf can. She shivered and giggled when I skimmed my nose over her sensitive skin. "When I shift the first thing I'll do is mark you."

She let out a little moan and I nuzzled in closer to her neck. I pulled back but kept my hands on her hips. I sat on the edge of the bed and pulled her down on my lap. I adjusted her so she was straddling me.

I looked at her blush covered face and then her calling lips. I brushed my lips over hers slowly tempting her. When she would lean in I would pull back. She whimpered and wrapped her arms around my neck. Sparks flying again. She pressed her lips to mine desperately needing it returned. I broke apart and started kissing her jaw, neck, and collarbone.

Not missing the chance to nibble her ear. Her breathing was heavy and long. Moaning was her specialty. She wiggled free from my kiss and kissed down my neck. I let out a strained growl causing Piper to giggle. I took over once again and quickly laid Piper on the bed. I prompt my self up on top of her. Kissing her sensuality and rubbing circles on her shoulder.

We then fell asleep.
