My family needs money, and its all up to me. My parents are too tired and busy to get anymore jobs. I need to step up and be the person who helps my family, cause no one else is going to.
Oh, and btw I'm Larissa/Lukas. I'm a teenager who has a family to take of. Its said that everyone has mates and if we find them then are lives will become good once again. But I don't believe in mates and shit like that, all of those are just stories told to kids so they can dream about true love and their 'other half'.

"Lukas! Wait up! Dude, did you hear about what's going on?" Julian asked, looking excited. "Nah, fam, what's goin on?" I replied, looking at him curiously. "Theres a lot of jobs that are looking for workers. They're here, in the city. And they're offering a bunch of money to your family if you get picked. But it has to be with yours and your guardians consent. Which means that I can't go cause my parents won't let me..." He informed me, getting a little sad at the end. "Hey man, its ok. Life'll get better, just keep your chin up." I smiled, patting his shoulder. He smiled back and then we started walking down the sidewalk. "Man, why don't you just park your truck at the high school?" He raised an eyebrow, curiously. "You know I don't trust the kids at school." I rolled my eyes, turning the corner to where my truck was parked.

He just nodded. "Do ya need a ride?" I asked, walking to the driver side. "Yeah, thanks man." I just shrugged and got in. We drove for an hour with the music blaring and us singing along terribly. We laughed as I pulled up to his house, "Hey man, thanks for the ride. I'll see you tomorrow, right?" He looked at me with hope. "I'll find out and text you once I know the answer man, but most likely." I smiled. He smiled, his dimples showing. "Aight, I'll see ya later man." He shut the door and walked up to the porch, turned around and waved with that smile on his face. I waved back and laughed.

I drove home, which was about 20 minutes from his place. I pulled up into my garage and shut off my truck. I grabbed my stuff, shutting and locking the garage. Keys in hand, I walked to the front door unlocking it. The dogs barking and howling when I walked into the house. I laughed and let them out of their kennels, they started jumping and running around. "Hey, boys! Stay down!" I laughed even more, as they calmed down. They then started barking at each other, I just rolled my eyes. I went to my room and put my stuff down. 'I wonder what emails i got today' I thought going onto my computer, clicking on my email. But all I saw was a notification from the water company.... "Shit.." I mumbled as I started reading the email, it was saying how we owed them $200,000..... We are struggling with money, my parents and I have jobs so we can get by, but with the dept we'll need to get more jobs.... Wait, didn't Julian say that we can get payed a lot if we get picked for the job openings? I opened another tab, looking up the job offers. Their page popped up, I started reading. Its was talking about how the people who get chosen and that their family would get payed. It then mentioned that even people with health problems can try, that the jobs offers might still be good for them. But it can't be contagious or death fatal. I started actually thinking about it, 'If I do go, my parents will be able to live right. All they would be doing is having me working a lot, I could deal with that....... I'm tired and hungry....' I just laughed lightly at myself, I got up and went to the kitchen making myself a sandwhich and thinking about the open job offers the whole time. I ate my delicious sandwhich, then went back to my room and layed down on my bed... With the thoughts about the job offers still in my head, I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up to my mom coming into my room and talking about going to school and all that. I just nodded and rolled back over trying to go back to sleep. "Larissa, get up! You can not be late to school!" She demanded, "I beg to differ.." I said, but it was muffled by the pillow, somehow she understood me. "Larissa." She sounded even more demanding now, "Alright, alright woman, I'm up." I mumbled as I slid out of my blankets and walked to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and combed my hair a couple times, I have a boycut, so I don't worry about my hair a lot. I went back to my room, grabbing whatever felt like a good way to go today. I ended up picking a black pair of pants, a white t-shirt, and my chest binder. 'Lukas today.' I thought putting my clothes on. I then put on my black leather jacket and grabbed my bag bringing it to the front door. I kissed my mom on the head, "I love you, see ya after school." I told my mom, "I love you too, have a good day at school." She replyed smiling, I said a quick thank you back and grabbed my stuff heading to my truck.
