People would never believe Error was a mother hen. Goth was two seconds away from strangling his guardian just to escape it!
Usually, Error had his haphephobia to deal with, but right now he seemed more likely to cuddle Goth to death.
"Error, I'm fine," he huffed out, it had been days since the astral event.
"And what happens if whoever did this tries again?" Error asked.
"I know how to get back to my body now," Goth protested.
"That's not the point, kid. They tried to kidnap you! And to kill you, all they'd have to do is trap you outside the Anti-Void and keep you and the save lantern apart long enough for you to be destroyed," Error said, fearful anger leaking into his voice.
"I know..." Goth whispered.
"Kid, I'm sorry... I know you know," Error said, giving the smaller monster a noogie. The fact Goth took it without protest said a lot of things.
Goth stared at the floor of his house, doing his best to push away the cloying depression that was his life.
"Look, go out. But don't stay away too long. We don't know who tried to get you, so please, just be careful," Error said, frowning.
"Promise," Goth said, nodding, before fleeing to finally get some freaking alone time.
Cuddly mother hen Error was an annoying Error.
OoOoO
"Yo, Life," Reaper said, spotting his counterpart watering flowers.
"Hello Reaper," Life said with a smile.
"I heard you wanted to talk to me?" He said, grinning.
"I had a visitor a few days ago," Life said.
Reaper frowned and hoped it wasn't Chaos, as the kid had an annoying tendency to prank everyone, and it was rather unlikely that they would've visited for any other reason.
"A guest, huh? Who was it?" He asked.
"A small child named Goth, someone tried to kidnap him, but messed up," she said, gently placing the watering can down.
"Kidnapping, huh?" He said unhappily, his mind going back to the 'facts' that Geno had discovered.
A son, a son that took after him and was stolen in all ways that mattered.
"Death... he could astral walk," Life said dryly, giving him a pointed look.
'Wow... that's not a skill I use often,' Reaper thought, definitely a mini-Death then, unlike his other kids.
"Reaper," Life said, giving him a sharp look. He winced.
"Whatever happened for that child to exist, I hope it works out alright," she said, picking up the watering can and walked away.
How does one fix their first child being ripped from reality, especially if no one remembers them?
OoOoO
Goth took in a deep breath of salty ocean air, the light breeze keeping him at a comfortable temperature.
Aquamarine waves foamed as they crashed into the rocky beach, as sea birds rode the winds above, crying out.
The sun was high in the sky, so he wouldn't have any issues of it getting dark yet.
Finding a good rock to sit on, he sat down, placing his lantern by his legs.
He could feel the stress melting away, relaxing in an AU where nothing really ever happened.
Above water, that is.
He gazed blankly out at the ocean, it was beautiful... but he just couldn't seem to appreciate it.
Suddenly, there was a crunch of rocks as something moved across the gravelly sand. Alarmed, he turned to look.
OoOoO
Geno could feel Reaper's magic supporting his own, keeping him from dusting while away from the save screen. He'd had to run a few errands, and what better time to run them than while the kids were at school?
He was done with the errands now, but he'd heard of a nice AU, and wanted to see it for himself.
From the sounds of it, it would make a good spot for a family picnic.
It was all so bright and beautiful, a perfect opposite of his usual abode.
He paused, realizing there was a figure ahead relaxing on the beach.
They turned suddenly- he must have been noisier then he thought- and startled lavender eyelights met his own.
'Oh...' he thought, shocked.
"Hello, Goth," he said after a few minutes of strained silence between then.
"Hello..." Goth whispered.
OoOoO
What does one say to one that was technically their mother, but doesn't remember?
'Hi, I'm your kid. But don't worry, you won't remember me, and I'll stay out of the way.'
Yeah... That wouldn't be the best.
"Do you... would you mind me sitting here?" Geno asked, looking at the spot next to him.
"Go ahead," Goth said awkwardly.
The taller skeleton sat down, his spot was nothing but sand, though- no comfy rock for him, heh. They sat there in silence, neither of them speaking to the other.
"I'm sorry," Geno finally said, half an hour later.
"For what?" Goth asked, confused.
"For forgetting you," Geno said, causing Goth to pause as he realized that Geno actually knew who he was.
"It's not your fault, it's whoever is behind the Retcons. I just hope they find a way to reverse it, my body is unstable due to this," Goth said, a mite bitterly.
"I hope so... I really hope so," Geno said.
"I have to go," Goth said as he got to his feet, idly grabbing the save lantern.
"Could we talk again in the future?" Geno asked.
Goth grinned at him.
"See you around mom," he said, and was gone.
