My eyes flutter open and glance over to my alarm clock. 3:30 AM. God, it's early... I sit up in bed slowly, my head still hurts from the impact of the two liter yesterday. Wait a second...my birthday is tomorrow. I'm excited that I'm going to be sixteen, but I also have school. At least I have Digital Media club today or DGM and a few decent teachers.
I notice the blanket on my lap. I didn't have a blanket on me when I fell asleep. Did Tom-...No, I can't think crazy thoughts, it must of been mom. Tyler and Dad wouldn't bother to do that kind of thing.
I can't believe I'm awake at an ungodly hour. I lean over and grab my laptop from my nightstand and set it on my lap. I open up my sound files of all the instrumentals I've recorded. I reach into the drawer of my nightstand and grab a pair of headphones and my lyric book. I work on songs for about two hours, before my phone rings and pulls me away from my music.
"Hi, West." I say still slightly sleepy.
"Will you meet me this morning? I have an early birthday present." He says in a hopeful voice.
"Of course, Skunky." I say with a chuckle.
I hear him groan on the other line.
"Meet me at my house at 6:15." He sighs before hanging up.
"Cool, don't say goodbye." I mumble to myself.
I put away my laptop and lyric book away and run into my bathroom. I brush my hair and put my pink side of my hair and the orange side of my hair in buns. I rinse off my face and the makeup I had on. I dry my face and put on makeup, again.
I run into my closet and change out of my clothes from yesterday. I put on a long sleeved black with white poka dots button up shirt and black and white striped skinny jeans. I readjust my heart necklace before slipping on my orange doc martins.
I grab my dirty clothes and throw them in my hamper. I sling my backpack over my shoulder and rush down the stairs and out the door.
I start my walk to West's. I slip my headphones on and press shuffle on my iPod. Boring by The Brobecks begins playing. I admire the way the trees look in the dark morning. I've always enjoyed nature in the early morning or late at night.
As I walk the songs change as I go. I continue to admire the scenery. Brother by Gerard Way plays as I walk up the Waters' driveway. I stop the music and put away my headphones. I go to knock on the door but it flings open before I have a chance to.
"Hey!" West exclaims.
He pulls me into the house, up the stairs, and into his room.
"What's up?" I ask impatiently.
"Close your eyes." He says, I cover my eyes with my hands and sigh. I hear shuffling around the room. "Okay, open."
I uncover my eyes and staring at me is West's cat Twiggy. I notice an envelope on Twiggy's collar. I open it and my eyes widen. These are tickets and meet and greet passes to the twenty one pilots and Fall Out Boy concert tomorrow night.
"No way!" I squeal with a big smile on my face.
"My mom got them, since she's a DJ on KISS FM." He says smiling.
"I could kiss you!" I pull him into an hug before I realize how awkward that sounded. West is like a brother, I wouldn't want to do that. "I'm not going to, I'm just really excited."
He laughs, "Happy Birthday, Stumpy."
"You are my favorite person right now." I say hugging him tighter.
