After the couple arrived back at the Populaire they got into an argument.
"Why did you go without me?!" Raoul yelled furiously. There was a reason why he sat out side her room every night, to protect her from that monster.
"Because I needed some air and I needed to talk to my father alone," she answered him.
"Also to see that hideous thing!" He countered.
"He's not hideous!! You just don't see him the way I do, the right way!" She told him enraged.
"I just don't want you to get hurt or to leave me for that thing, you should have told me you were going, he almost separated us. I must keep you safe!" He worried over her.
"I'm not a doll Raoul, I can go out on my own! You can't control me, I don't obey you, even when we are married, I won't obey your every command," she told him, putting her cloak back on. "I'm going for some fresh air, if you follow me I will leave you," she threatened. Before he could say anything else, she slammed the door though she heard him yell her nickname through the door.
On the streets of Paris, the young girl walked alone, lost in thought. She avoided eye contact, not wanting to be recognized. It wasn't until a voice spoke out to her.
"Hello Dearie!" A man suddenly appeared in front of her. He had holding grey hair, scaly yellowish green skin, his teeth looked like they were rotting. His eyes were brownish gold color. His leather coat did not seem like it would be sold in Paris, but it looked like his skin.
"Hi," she said as she jumped back from him. He had startled her when he came out of no where.
"Earlier today I was in a cemetery, I couldn't help listen to your pretty voice then listen to your "angel of music" lead you to him. I also watched the quarrel between the boy and your angel, allow me to introduce my self, Rumplestiltskin!" He exclaimed with a bow. Christine wondered what else this man knew about her."I'm Christine Daae," she introduced her self as she watched him.
"Oh I know who you are dearie! The Swedish soprano, most loveliest voice ever to be heard! Trained by the "angel of music" that her father sent from heaven when she was just a child, the angel that came isn't what you expected I presume," he inquired with a smirk, his voice getting a little softer.
"No, he was until he revealed himself which was what I wanted but it messed up everything, it wasn't because of his face, but his actions. Is it possible to love some one yet fear them?" She asked him, trying not to let tears roll down her face.
"Don't cry child, it's very possible, but what matters if the love is true, but if it isn't then you tell yourself that you love him to rid of some of the fear or because you feel he needs that love," Rumple explained to her, trying to appear kind to the girl. He whipped out a handkerchief, giving it to her gently. She took it, wiping the tears from her cheeks.
"Thank you, it's just I let him in such a long time ago when he said he was the angel of music and started training me. I saw him as a fatherly figure, but now I don't know what I see. With Raoul I took comfort when I needed it, but all he does is treat me like he owns me and I'm some porcelain doll that sits upon a shelf. Sometimes I wish I could escape the situation all together," she sighed, not meeting his eyes. Rumple's eyes lit up, he stood and turned around to her excitedly.
"What would you say if I could give you that new start? Without having to change anything about you, hell I could change your memories when we get there if you like!" He exclaimed to her.
"How? They both can track people down very easily, I wouldn't make the city line," she sighed in hopelessness.
"That's where I come in dearie, you see I'm not of this world, I'm come from a place called the enchanted forest , a place where magic exists! I have the power to transport both of us there, where your fiancée and angel can't follow, what do you say? Do you believe me? If so then you will owe me a favor, something you wouldn't miss, I would give it back course," he tried to convince her.
"What would you take?" She asked him, considering his offer.
"Your voice, I have plans for it, you will help me in the future I can tell," he told her, holding out his hand for her to take. "Do we have a deal?"
Christine watched him, contemplating the pros and cons for this tempting offer. Then she decided.
"We have a deal Rumpleslitskin," she said, shaking his hand.
