Run

Run. That's all I've been doing these past seven years as a demigod. Run,run, run. Running from monsters, running from angry gods, running from home. And that's what I was doing now. Running to Camp-Half Blood, apparently it was a safe place for people like my friends and I.

A satyr named Grover had found us a couple of weeks ago and was taking us there. By us I mean my three best friends and I, we are so close that they are practically like brothers to me. Carter, Ryan, and Quinn were all demigods like me. Quinn and Ryan were a 14 year old twin sons of Athena, whilst Carter was a 18 year old son of Hephaestus , same age as myself. We'd found that out when he'd suddenly combusted into flames while fighting a horde of neon pink, evil goats, totally freaking me out .We had no idea who my godly parent was, Grover said was strange that we hadn't made it to Camp before and that I hadn't been claimed yet.

But those weren't my thoughts up on half-blood tonight. We were running from a pack of about 12 Hellhounds and a couple of skeleton warriors with bows and arrows that didn't look to friendly. I was about to cross the border to safety when I heard Carter scream, spinning around I saw to my horror, that my best friend for the better part of my life was being pinned to the ground by a freaking Hellhound. I instinctively ran back, swinging my imperial gold sword through its neck. I picked him off the ground and mostly dragged him to the border to safety, but not before one of the zombie guys got an arrow in my stomach. That last thing I heard was Grover screaming for somebody and then the whole world was swallowed by darkness.

I grinned at Conner and Travis Stoll down at the other side of the table, we were using the morse code that Leo had taught us to talk about how funny Jason's hair looked at the moment. Last night we had snuck into his cabin and died it pink, we were after all, sons of Hermes.

How am I alive and still devilishly handsome you ask? After the victory of The Giant War, The Gods had let The Seven and several other heroes that had made a big impact on the outcome of the war pick one dead demigod to resurrect. My dearest Annabeth had chosen to bring me back. Also returned were Bianca, Zoe , Castor, Bekendorf, Selena and a couple more.

My thoughts we interrupted by a scream up at the top of Half-Blood Hill, I turned and squinted up at the hill to see the one and only, Grover Underwood standing beside what could only be a couple of demigods.

Unsheathing my sword I raced to the sene with Percy and Nico right beside me. I got there just in time to see a girl my age crumple to the ground. I motioned for a distraught kid that was most likely a brother of Leo to step aside so I could take a look at her, hardly even paying attention as Nico sent the hellish creatures away with little more than a few shouts, being the son of Hades and all. The girl had dark waves of brown hair cascading down her face and even in her injured state looked amazingly beautiful. I shook my head clearing the thoughts, and inspected the wound carefully, even now I could tell that the arrow had been laced with poison.

I glanced over at the kid next to me who was staring at his friend in shock, "What's her name?" I asked, still keeping pressure on the wound, even though I wasn't a son of Apollo I knew that I couldn't pull the arrow it, it would cause to much blood loss.

This seemed to snap him out of it, "Her names is Skyler, Skyler Barns" I nodded.

"Will, we need you over here, ASAP" I shouted to the growing crowd. They parted to let the son of Apollo through. He asked me to carry her to the infirmary, but I couldn't come in. I don't really know why this bothered me so much, but from the moment I laid my eyes on her I had felt this really big urge to protect her. And that was exactly what I was going to do.
