Chapter 5: No Ship Greater Than Friendship.

Suddenly, I felt something inside of my mind snap. As my mind suddenly erupted with anger.
"Lady Scarlett, I am truly sorry-"
"Your truly sorry huh? I guess keeping your friends in the dark is something you commonly do U-556? Is that right?!"
"Scarlett, you need to calm down-"
"Boo, hoo, hoo. My sister is dead and so is our battleship. Newsflash! We aren't all invincible!"
"Scarlett—"
"How do you think I was going to react Commander?! One of iron blood's ships is dead, my sister-ship works with the sirens. And my best fucking friend, is always. So. Stupidly. Cheerful. Give her enough time, and she will still think things are all 'happy sunshine and rainbows!' While in reality those are what is going to get her killed—"
I felt my chair being turned around, just to see and realize that the words I said hurt U-556. Because now she is pouring out tears from her eyes.. Quickly, I snapped myself back in place.
"U..U-556?"
I stood up, and tried to hug her but she took two steps back.
"U-556. Hey. I didn't mean to—"
"Y..Yes you clearly did.. And I can tell.."
She slowly handed my a rolled up paper, with a ribbon on it.
"Goodbye Scarlett.. I.. Am sorry that I became your friend. Farewell Scarlett.."
She ran out of the office crying.
"556–"
I felt someone grabbing my left arm tightly, stopping me from running off. I looked to my left to see the Commander holding my left arm tightly.
"Commander.. I..didn't mean to hurt her feelings."
"I know you didn't. I can tell.. You know what. I got an idea.. Meet me at the beach at ten o'clock tonight, I'll try to bring a few other friends along with me."
"It's fine. I don't need help."
"Yes. You do."
I could feel his hand let go of my arm, I looked forward and sighed.

I began to walk down the left side of the beach to see a woman with white hair sitting on the beach. Could it be Tirpitz? No, it couldn't possibly be her.. Confirming my disbelief. I got closer, to realized she had a single barreled main cannon with some anti-aircraft guns, and 5 torpedos on her rigging. There was also Hood, Vestal, and Jintsuu all sitting around the sand, as the moonlight was hitting the sand.
"Poka. Poka~."
"Um.. Hello. My name is Scarlett. The super battleship of Azur Lane."
"Hello. The name is Laffey. So, I heard your the "talk of the news" aren't you miss Scarlett?"
"Talk of the news?"
"Yes, practically every camp is talking about you. Especially in the ironblood camp—"
"That's enough from you low level destroyer.."
"Hey Bismarck and, Yamato-"
"Laffey! Come out and play with us in the water!"
The long white haired bunny girl stood up and almost running up to the water, stopped halfway, then laid down on the sand.
             "Actually. I'm kinda sleepy..."
             "E-Eh?!"
I chuckled a bit, then looking to my left I saw Yamato with her umbrella and opened and Bismarck beside her.
"Scarlett.. I.. Came to apologize.."
"Apologize? Oh wow. Now you finally come to your senses after being such an asshole-"
"Please, hear me out.. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be mean. Please, sit down."
I sat down beside Bismarck.
"I'll hear you out.."
"Thank you.. I. Couldn't help but ease drop on you two by the way.."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"I mean. The things you said to U-556 were really rude.."
"Well, what was I supposed to do?! It's true-"
"Yes.. it is true. However, without her. She wouldn't have towed me back to port. And getting to see my sister."
Bismarck chuckled then laughed.
"B..Ismarck? Are you.. Laughing?"
"It's just funny. How even if me and my sister Tirpiz would fight.. We still cared bout one another......."
Silence took over, i could hear the waves clashing along the shore, and the girls in the water playing. I then noticed Bismarck was handing me a certificate. Gently, I took the certificate from her.
"yes. I have trust issues Scarlett. However, if I had to outline one thing about our relationship. It's the fact how that you being so cheerful and helpful, may sometimes and most of the time improve many situations.. Which is why I entrust you with U-556."
"B-but how? I broke her.."
"Yes. You did. But, it doesn't mean you cannot start again. Doesn't it-"
From the distance I could see Akashi running up to us.
"Akashi? What are you—"
"SCARLETT! COME QUICKLY NOW NYA!"
She began to tug my hand quite viciously.

I followed her along, running into Akashi's shop and down into a basement of some sort. Inside the room was lit up with bright lights. With many test tubes on the tables of this secret lab, and electronic devices and a glass test chamber with its door open in front of me. Beside the chamber we're wires hooked up to a computer with Commander Hawk and Lieutenant Bomb behind the computer, finally beside the test chamber was a glass tank filled with what looks like a Purple dark cube?
"What's going on Akashi?"
"We found a potential way to enhance Priority ships. To be stronger than normal nya~. All you gotta do is get in that test chamber."
I looked at Akashi.
"Look, Akashi, Hawk, Bomb..I'm not to sure about this. It seems dangerous. How'd you two get this?!"
"Commander Jackson said Z23, Javelin, and Ayanami found it on patrol. And you may have a slight chance of possibly dying because this hasn't been done before nya—"
Suddenly the white lights turned red. I turned around to see U-556 in the test chamber, and the door closed.
"U-556–"
"Leave me alone scarlett! You never wanted to be with me-"
"No! No, U-556. I never meant to say those words-"
"Lies! All my life I had people I known.. all torn apart in front of me. And the final person.. I thought I could trust.. was you.. I never had the power to help others, but now I finally can.."
"Please U-556, I am sorry that I hurt you. And.. I know I haven't been the best friend and in no position to be asking this. But.. May I be your friend again? We can start from the beginning."
I began to tear up, and cry. I don't wanna lose her. I don't wanna lose U-556. I don't want her to be alone forever.. and neither do I.. As I briefly looked up at U-556, she was shocked to see me crying. She slightly and slowly nodded, but suddenly the test chamber automatically locked her in.
"W-What?"
I looked to my left at Commander Hawk and Lieutenant Bomb to see them quickly trying to open it up, panicked and scared. Quickly I grabbed a wooden chair and running up to the test chamber threw it at the chamber. The chair broke into pieces and didn't even scratch the chamber.
"L-Lady Scarlett! W-What happening?!
I could see U-556 was trying to find a way out but there was no escape in the test chamber, only small vents on the top. However
"It-its going to be fine U-556-"
Suddenly a big puff of smoke covered her, I could hear her screams of fear. Then the test chamber opened up, and taking a few steps back, U-556 slowly emerged from the test chamber with a red ironblood crescent on her chest, with a silver sword in her hand, she looked up as bright red chains entangled and intertwined me, the Commander, Lieutenant, and Akashi.
"U-556?"
She looked directly at me, her left eye was glowing bright black and her right eye was red. Then suddenly, she gave me a slight grin.
"My, my, my.. you caused such a big ruckas for U-556. Jetzt, sie soll sterben zum verletzt ihr!"
Without hesitation she pulled the blade up to my neck.
