December 2019 』

🌨

The atmosphere was nothing but pleasing as music played through the speakers in the ballroom. The children were happily dancing, some of them with their parents and others by themselves. I, on the other hand, was chatting with Jungkook next to the buffet as he couldn't stop eating while Charee was busy with a grumpy father. Apart from her, Jungkook was the only coworker I could actually share an interesting conversation with.

"You've never played Skyrim?" I almost choked on the slice of vanilla cake "How is that even possible?"

The young man nodded. "I'm spending so much time on Overwatch (y/n), I don't even get to see my boyfriend!"

I rolled my eyes as he smiled sheepishly. "Still, you should try it at least once. I remember telling you that like what, five months ago?"

Before he could answer, a deep voice interrupted the both of us. "May I borrow (y/n) for a second?" he said in a polite yet cold tone

Jungkook simply shrugged, focusing back on the food he was devouring. I followed Taehyung as he dragged me in a corner where no one could actually see nor hear us, confusion painted all over my face.

"What's going on?" I asked, glancing at some random guests

Arms folded over his chest, Taehyung sent me a death glare I couldn't comprehend. Seeing no reason why he would look at me that way, I insisted.

"Cat got your tongue?"

After a few seconds of silence during which his cold gaze never looked away from me, he sighed. "Is he your coworker?"

"Who?" I tilted my head on the side "Jungkook?"

Taehyung snorted. "Yes, Jungkook."

"Well, yes. Why do you ask?"

I wasn't used to the annoyed Taehyung. He seemed bothered, yet the pout on his face led me to believe it was nothing serious. Still, I needed to know what was going on. Eventually, he allowed himself to enlighten me.

"Do you like him? I mean, he looks good, right?" Hearing this, I had to laugh. What was he even saying? "Did I say something funny?" he frowned, looking awfully serious

"Why are you asking me that? You're being so weird!"

Before I could say anything else, the black-haired man frowned even more as his brown orbs darkened. He unfolded his arms, pushing his hair back as if he was fed up with life—or me.

"We'll speak later. Not here."

And just like that, he left. In the end, I was even more confused than earlier.
