All about so-called "love"

What is 'love' ?

I wanna know, they say it's sweet like candy
I wanna know, they say it feels like flying
I wanna know know know know
What is love? What does love feel like?
I wanna know, they say you smile all day
I wanna know, they say the world becomes beautiful
I wanna know know know know
What is love? Will this kind of love come to me too?

So, according to this girl group, love is a fuzzy and warm feeling which is sweet like candy.

Do you agree ? Why ? Why not ?

Have you ever asked yourself this question ? What IS love ? It is very apparent, not gonna lie. You must say, oh hey how do you not know what love is ? But truly, who knows what love is ?

Scientifically, it is the feeling of euphoria caused due to the hormones dopamine, adrenaline,  norepinephrine, etc. So, technically, love is actually a bunch of chemicals.

Annnnnd we always thought love was so philosophical!

I mean, its stupid if you think about it.

Okay okay forget everything I said and think about this.

Love isn't what people believe it to be. Since we all are made up of chemicals, our body functions as a result of many metabolic processes. Imagine, you're in a situation where you need to save one of the two people. The choice is between one of your family member and a stranger.

You will very obviously save your family member ! Why ? The other person equally deserves to be saved, yet you didn't choose them. 

The reason is 'love' and 'care'.

The reason why love exists is very logical if you think critically.

Say organisms of two new different species produce their children (its not a hybrid ! they mated with members of their own species)

The first species, 'A', "loves" their children. They're very affectionate and take care of their babies. And the second species, 'b', does not know about 'love' and so the baby just grows without any particular affection and warmth.

Which species do you think will survive ?

Species 'A', for sure.

Basically humans have the feature of 'love' and 'care' for their fellow species members.

If there was no love, then human parents wouldn't take care of their children. The children won't receive adequate things required to lead a fulfilling and productive life. This would be threatening for the entire species.

The species would probably go extinct ! I might be completely wrong because every species except the human one isn't self-conscious, but yet they are surviving. They don't know what love is.

Anyway, my point is that love exists so that a population keeps on producing off-springs. Love secures the existence of a species. Its evolution.

Now you might say, what about our 'friends' and stuff ?

Once again, imagine. You don't know about friendship and nobody is each other's friend. Then, just like animals, we would compete aggressively for food and shelter. Now look at your current self. You have friends and they're always here to help you ! You know that they're on your side and so you're safe. You don't have to worry about of being attacked by them.

Oof, this was long, but you surely got my point.

In the next chapter, I'll tell you why this whole thing came in my mind in the first place ! Till then, think about what you read above. I'm sure you agree 75%.
