Remember the girl in the back of the classroom, the one that's never there anymore?

"Yeah, I remember her. She sits behind me. I called her forrest because her eye reminded me of the trees in spring.

Forrest didn't speak much but every blue moon I would hear the sound of a quiet hiccup or sniffle from behind the large textbook. I never really knew what to do but as the crying got more frequent I always remembered to pack a few tissues into my school bag every week. I'd pass them to her but kept my eyes forward on the teacher. She was hesitant to take them at first but after a few weeks she'd accept them and quietly say a small 'thank you'.

I don't know the exact reason Forrest cries but I do know that if I can get everyone to leave her alone, just for half a hour every day, maybe I can help her smile for a change."
