It was a cool fall day. I looked outside and watched the beautiful leaves fall from the trees. I was 17 at the time and I didn't know what was about to happen but something about that day felt off. The sky was a dark gray and the wind was loud and cold. I had a feeling that something wasn't right. I finally got up out of bed and looked at my phone. It was already 2:30 and I just woke up. I walked over to my closet. I decided to wear a long white dress that had little pink and purple flowers at the bottom. I walked over to my vanity and looked at the mirror. I saw my long brown hair, light blue eyes, light skin and freckles.

 I hated how I looked

I hated how I looked. I was never the one who guys liked or stared at like my friends. I've only had a few boyfriends and it was only because they felt sorry for me. When I finished 10th grade everyone started to abandon me, even my own parents so I had to figure out a way to survive on my own. I decided to quite school and start working. Ever since then I have never had a friend or anyone to love. I walked down the long steps to the bottom floor of my house. I was a part time painter and my whole house was filled with paintings. I loved to paint but it never made any money so I had to get a real job. I worked at a small coffee shop at the edge of the town. It was a Monday and I had to work but I slept to late to think about going to work that day. Suddenly a loud noise came from downtown. Sirens started going off and there were many warnings on the news. I watched the news and it said that there had been an outbreak in the area. We were told to stay indoors but I knew that if I stayed I would die.
