Jimin

The excitement that Jimin felt as they made their way to the city made his body shake. At the same time worry and fear still lurked inside him.  Along with the recent pain of loss it all made him want to collapse into a ball on the ground and cry.  To many thoughts and emotions swirled around in his head creating a cloud of confusion. The biggest of all of them being guilt.  Ah-Roo was dead and yet here he was looking like a small child with a new toy. Jimin felt like he shouldn't want to smile or laugh,  or feel the joy he felt right now going to the village.  Part of that joy sprung from a hope that his mate may be waiting below for him.  Maybe Jungkook had already arrived and would take him into his arms.

The sound of a twig snapping behind them brought Jimin out of his thoughts. He jumped slightly at the noise and Hoseok of course grabbed his sword.  Jimin didn't expect the warm feeling the crept into his heart when he looked behind them to see Jin and  Namjoon sitting on horses smiling slightly. The feeling sunk quickly when Jin asked about Ah-Roo.  Hoseok shook his head grimly but didn't elaborate.  Jimin was thankful because he wasn't ready to talk about it just yet.

Jin forced a smile on his face and held a hand down towards Jimin.  He grabbed the elders hand and was soon sitting in front of Jin on the steed.  A calming feeling rushed over him as the elder put his arms around him and grabbed the reins.  He knew that Jin would understand his sorrow in a lot of different ways.  Which Jin proved when one of his arms wrapped around the small prince and hugged him.  When he went to pull it back Jimin grabbed his hand and steadied it.  He needed the comfort and if he couldn't have Jungkook at the moment then Jin was the next best thing.

Jimin shifted his body until he was sitting on the horse sideways and cuddled into Jin's chest,  allowing tears to fall freely once again for his lost friend.  Jin held him in place with one hand and as the horse began to move Jimin heard Jin's voice,  "have you seen any of the others?"

Hoseok replied quickly from his spot behind Namjoon,  "No, once The General spotted us I just ran." Hoseok paused and looked at his arms around  Namjoon's waist before laughing,  "wow Namjoonie  I have never felt closer to you."

This of course made all three of them laugh.  Not Jimin though,  he simply kept his head buried in Jin's chest crying silently.  Jin just held onto him tightly and didn't say a word.  It meant a lot to Jimin to have someone to cry to.  Someone to just hold him and let him get it all out. He didn't want to hear that everything would be okay, or have someone tell him that he needed to calm down. Jimin simply wanted to cry, to let it all out until there was nothing left.  He was grateful for Jin more than anything in that moment.

It wasn't very long before the horses stopped and Jimin heard a strange voice,  "What brings you to Otgol?"

"We are looking for shelter for the night. " Namjoon said keeping an even tone in his voice.

Jimin kept his face hidden underneath his hood and his head buried in Jin's chest.  He was still afraid on some level to look at people. Years of beatings when he would look in anyone's eyes had given him a fear of doing the smallest of things. Even though they were far from that capital a part of him expected his father to burst out and punish him for his transgressions. He even avoided the eyes of their small group out of habit. So though he didn't see Namjoons face the tone in his voice suggested that he was likely giving the man a stern yet calm look that was common on soldiers.

"I meant no offense." The strange voice replied, "you guys wouldn't be coming from the capitol would you?"

Jimin decided he liked the mans voice.  It was gentle and quiet but carried a certain rough undertone to it.  The voice was strangely soothing to listen  to and Jimin couldn't resist the urge to sneak a look at the man though his body shook at the thought.  As he went to move his hood back slightly however,  he was stopped by Jin.  The elders hand moved his own away from the hood and gently brought his head down to his chest.  For some unknown reason Jin seemed uneasy and wanted to keep Jimins face hidden for the moment.  He didn't know Jin all that well but he knew that if the elder was uneasy it was best to go with it.
