POV: Sofia.

6:00AM. On the dot. I wrestle around my crisp, lush blankets, restless and not wanting to leave my cosy bed. Sighing, I kick my duvet off and get up, not ready for the day ahead of me.

I enter the bathroom, eyeing myself inside the mirror. Picking up my toothbrush, I add toothpaste and lazily start to brush, cleaning my retainer afterwards. My hair already washed from last night, I throw it into a loose bun, pulling strands out to make it look more presentable. I'd say it looks decent, but who cares, it's not I'm trying to impress anyone, am I?

Washing my face quickly then drying it, I then re-enter my room, readying my uniform for the long day ahead, slowly taking off my hoodie and shorts, then buttoning up my plaid white shirt and doing up my tie. I pull my skirt up to my waist, then put on my socks, along with my blazer.

All ready, I skip downstairs, stumbling upon my navy blue bag. Not enough time for breakfast, but who even eats it anyways? I wave to my older sister, Alex, along with my mother, and exit the door with my father.

I push open the car doors, and swing myself inside the vehicle. My dad turns around, slightly laughing at me.

"What?" I exclaim, jokily, wanting a reaction out of him.

"Nothing. Are you ready for the day?"

"Yeah, I guess." I lie through my teeth.

The car starts to reverse, and soon enough we're on the road, only a couple minutes away from my dreaded school.

Arriving at school:

I enter the gates, only to meet a couple of my good friends, Samira, Kadija, Ellie and Mariam. We talk about the usual, Mattia, Kairi, Alejandro and the boys, Tiktok and what we did on the weekends, same-old, same-old. As we're discussing random topics, Joseph and Saidat approach us, only next to Saidat is her older brother, Ahmed. I glance at him, letting the same stare linger on him. We make eye contact, and he bites his lip, as if he were embarrassed- though knowing him, that wasn't the case. He greets us cockily.

"What you saying you man?" he said, eyeing us all up and down unintentionally. We all exchanged a look in unison, clearly expressing we liked what we saw. Noticing our ignorance, Ahmed chuckled, then left to go talk to his friends.

After he had left, it was like a breath of fresh air. I got so nervous around him. I'm not sure why. I just did, I guess. Clearly zoning out, I heard my friends start to call my name.

"Sofia? You there?", they whispered, cautiously.

"Huh... Yeah." I replied, in a daze.

They seemed to return back to their chatter, though I was still processing what I had just saw.

He was so perfect.

Perfect in my eyes.

I walked silently behind my friends, approaching my first lesson.

Break Time:

Two lessons passed, yet I couldn't stop thinking about him. His laugh, his voice and everything. Yet he was my best friends brother. Why did this have to happen to me? Why couldn't my feelings control themselves?
I sighed and continued to walk with my friends, deep in thought.

After school:

I had just finished all of my lessons, and I was now exiting the building. As I was walking, she caught my eye. Saidat seemed to be leaving, though before she could, I called out to her. She seemed unbothered when I'd asked her if I could come over, and accepted. I was relieved, but at the same time overwhelmed. I was going to her house.. the same house where her brother lived?
