*mayas pov*

i look up at sophie as tears fill her eyes.

"why... maya just why? your so beautiful why on earth would you ever do you do these kinds of things to yourself"

"i- i dont really know" i responded

i put my head down and sophie fell to the floor hugging me. we just kinda sat there for a minute. 

" maya. please. tell me why"

"soph i already told yo-"

i was cut off by another pair of arms being wrapped around me.

it was joey.

*joeys pov*

i walk down the stairs, tears sweltering in my eyes. the thought of maya, sweet beautiful innocent maya being hurt by me was absolutely crushing.

before i could blink i was wrapping my arms around her back. whatever i did, any pain i caused i was determined to fix. 

she turned around and looked at me, in my white hoodie which she wore so much better than i ever could . messy brown hair, adorable light freckles all over her red little face and tears running down her cheeks. she was beautiful.

she was perfect.

i cupped her flushed pink cheeks and kissed her. 

she hesitated at first but then kissed back.

i think she was just as suprised as i was at the fact that this was really happening.

she broke the kiss.

"j-joey"

" shhh.... princess dont talk. its okay ive got you. its all over now, and maya i promise you i wont ever hurt you again."

she backed away and looked up at me with those soft brown eyes-

" joey, please dont make any promises you cant keep..."

at this second i knew this girl was broken. looking into her eyes in that moment i could see all her hurt, her sadness, all of her pain. and i would have gave anything to take it away and bring it on myself. because that's simply what you do for the people you love.

" this is a promise i will die trying to keep amaya. i need you in my life. i wanna wake up everyday and see you at school, hear your adorable laugh, see that award winning smile of yours."
