POV Mackenzie.
I heard Jeremy ring the doorbell as he does every morning. "It's open" I yelled, as I buttered my toast.
"Morning Kenzie" smiled Jeremy, entering the small kitchen, "ready to go?"
"Almost" I replied, grabbing my school bag and stuffing the toast in my mouth. "Ready" I muffled through a mouthful of food and grinned.
"Cool, let's go so".
As always Jeremy rushed to open the car door for me. "How many times do I have to tell you to stop doing that", I sighed. "How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not going to stop", Jeremy smirked, as he closed the door behind me.
Jeremy has driven me to school everyday since freshmen year, when he finally got his license. I had had mine for ages before him but was lacking in the whole owning a car part.
"Are you working again tonight?", he asked.
"Yup, so if there's any chance a really sweet guy would happen to be able to pick me up after wards I would be forever grateful" I smiled cheesily at him.
"Yeah yeah I'll be outside at 11" he grumbled, pretending to be annoyed. I pinched his cheek and he couldn't help but crack a smile.
I knew better. Jeremy was never annoyed with me, and me never with him. We had been best friends since middle school and had never fought.
As always I had control of the radio and was blasting the music through the car, humming along to the songs for the whole journey.
We pulled into the school parking lot and drove around for awhile until seeing that there were no spaces left.
"Jeremy I'm going to be late for class" I whined.
"I know, I know. I keep saying we need to leave earlier", he said glancing left and right for a space, "feels like there are more and more cars in here everyday. Everyone's getting cars for their eighteenths now I suppose."
"Not everybody" I muttered under my breath. Jeremy may be my best friend but I didn't like talking money with him. Mostly because he had it, and I didn't.
"You just jump out and I'll catch up with you later yeah?" he said, slowing down so I could hop out.
"Okay thank you, thank you" I smiled, grabbing my bag and getting out of the car, before heading in before the first bell.
The halls were crowded and bustling as usual. Sounds of banging lockers and snippets of conversations flooded around me. Jocks throwing footballs overhead whilst girls swoon at them, and the non-jocks swoon over those girls. People always wanting what they can't have.
I wouldn't say I was a loner, I mean I had Jeremy, but I definitely kept to myself when it came to school. I weaved in and out of the groups, with no interest in stopping for a chat.
I finally reached my locker when the first bell chimed, so I grabbed my chemistry books and headed down to the labs. Half-walking, half-running because I know how much Mr Dunham hates when people are late to his class.
I'm navigating my way through people, winding left and right but still I'm getting no where. Am I the only person who doesn't want to be late? The crowd finally started to thin out and I picked up more speed. I was soon jogging and flew around the corner when- *CRASH!*
I laid on the floor rubbing my head, as my chemistry notes scattered the floor.
"Ow, you should really watch where yourself going yano" a deep voice grunted.
I look up to see who has fallen victim to my body slam and my eyes locked on Aiden Hale. I was stunned. Speechless.
I had just taken out the schools hottest guy and was struggling to find any words. I stared at him pushing himself off the floor and he offered me a hand up.
I awkwardly stared at him, wondering what the hell was happening. I noticed his confused face and snapped out of my daze. I took his hand, and I couldn't help but notice his strong grip as he effortlessly pulled me up onto my wobbily feet.
"Are you okay?", he asks, looking at me with judgy eyes, as if he couldn't have cared less of what my answer would be.
"Um yeah...it's...ehh..." I stuttered, wondering why my mouth was suddenly so dry.
"Are you having a seizure or something" Aiden asked, confused by my apparent lack of English. He crouched down to gather the notes that littered the floor, and I dropped down to do the same. He handed me a pile of them and looked at me for a moment before deciding that this conversation was dead before it had started, and so he got up and walked past me without giving me a second glance.
I scoffed with disbelief. He may have been hot but not enough for me to ignore that crappy treatment. Rude much?! You'd swear he thought he was brought down by the angels by how he carried himself on his high horse.
I glanced back but he was already gone.
I took some deep breaths and shook off the awkward feeling that was lingering, and as I was greeted with the reality of how incredibly late I was for chemistry, I dashed down the hall, taking great caution around corners, and finally reached the classroom. Ready to be eaten alive by Mr Dunham.
