Chapter nine - being like normal again

- chapter 9 -

Have you ever felt so excited and scared at the same time, it makes your heart go all crazy?

Have you ever miss someone so much but you just can't say it out loud so you act way opposite from what you think or feel?

I have all those feelings going on with me right now.

"I need to talk to you." Said by my guy best friend aka my crush aka Luke. I starred at him and all i saw was his serious expression, so i nodded quietly.

We're outside the hallway right now. Neither of us spoke a word since we got here. Awkwardness flew all over the places and that was not good. What did he want to talk to me about? i twisted my fingers around the shirt i was wearing.

"So.." we both stated at the exact same time weirdly cause me to smile sheepishly.

"You first." i said nodding my head his way.

"Ok. i just want to say, I'm sorry about that night. Things have been pretty damn awkward between us and i hate it like this. I miss you." he said, looking straight at me. I stared into his eyes and i could see that he means it.

So he is sorry about that kiss. It was just a mistake right? A pain in my chest grew quietly. Why can't i get over it? I look like an idiot that can't even get over a kiss. The best part of the sentence made it less hurting. 'I miss you' I melted at the three simple words that he said. I forced myself to stay cool and say something.

"I miss you too. Lets just forget about that night. I don't wanna lose my bestfriend for this little things." I said, forcing a chuckle out my mouth.

I know exactly that i won't forget that night, i just can't. But maybe he will, maybe he wants to. The unknown emotion flashed through his eyes but soon got covered. What was that look for a second?

"Me too." He whispered looking at the ground while i stayed in silence.

All the conversation were cut off by my best friend, Peyton. she's standing with Mia not too far from where Luke and i are standing.

"Chlo! Luke! come on we'll go grab lunch." She shouted. I smiled and told her we will be there in a minute. My heart has a reason to go all crazy again when he smiled and grabbed my wrist before walking behind my two bestfriends. I can't help it but smiles stupidly. We finally talked to each other again.

I placed my food on the table and slipped into my usually seat. I felt a hot gaze on my back, making me shift myself uncomfortably.

Ding!

I got a message. I took my phone out and opened the message. It's from Mia and Peyton, who are sitting opposite to me and facing me right now. We're in a group chat.

Mia: Helen is starring at you, Chlo.
Pey: what is her problem like seriously?
Mia: that hateful stare though.
Pey: so annoying.
Me: idk. Is she still starring?
Mia: yup.

Okay.. I glance at my phone screen which is in the front camera mode to see her stare. Whoa that is not a lovely stare i know. It's the opposite one.

The boys who are sitting at the table with us, noticed my action. They took a glance at Helen and She suddenly had her plastic sweet smile on her face. I rolled my eyes openly at her fakeness causing Peyton to giggled. But in the sudden, Peyton stopped laughing and starred at something behind me. I turned my head around and saw Helen and her little minions standing behind my back.

She faked a smile and said "hey chloe, see you in our next class." Helen said sweetly but unfortunately it's all fake as fuck. She walked to Luke and gave him a kiss on his lips causing my heart to twist. But i pushed that weak feeling aside. She wanted my reaction to be hurt and i won't give what she wanted. Luke was still in silence. I pointed at some jokes on my phone for Peyton to see before letting out a laugh. I know i'm so fake right now. Peyton starred at me for a second before laughing with me.

I didn't look back until i heard her heels stormed away. Then at the sudden all the strongness faded away, left me with my weakness which can't be show now. I excused myself to the restroom after zoning out for a while. I silently walked out of the cafeteria and headed to the restroom. And no i didn't cry. I just felt something heavy in my chest.

After i fixed my hair, i headed back to my friend but all the boys were gone. I was relief to be honest. I walked to Pey and Mia and sat with them. It feels really bad that i have to keep this secret to myself but i can't tell my bestfriend about Luke, yet. Gosh I am the worst friend in the world.

"Let's go sit outside. It's so uncomfortable here." I offered and both of the girls nodded. So we're making our way out the cafeteria. fabulously. nah just kidding hahahaha.

Time passed by, we laughed and chatted all this lunch until the bell rang. I said goodbye to the girl and head to my class.

There's not thing interesting about this class and all i do was sat there, half awake half sleep.

"HURRY UP CHLO!!"

"Gosh okay okay." i said back to my annoying bestie aka Peyton who is waiting outside the fitting room with Mia.

"You took for-ever!!" Peyton muttered making me roll my eyes while Mia just chuckled.

"Yeah yeah. So how is this dress?" i asked cutting her off. I looked at myself in a fit blue dress that comes down above my knees. Both of them looked at me from head to toe.

"Definitely a nope." they both said it out loud together. i groaned out before going back into the fitting room with another dress Mia handed it to me. Ugh i have been trying like 20 dresses but none of them feels right.

Tonight i have to change

"Nope." ...again....

"Ew." and again.

I walked out of the fitting room again wearing this black strapless dress that has silver pattern on the top part and flowy bottom. Wow i like this dress a lot. I smiled to myself in the mirror. i think this is it.

"Oh my god. you look gorgeous." Peyton said slowly while gaping. Mia said nothing but looked at me with a smile.

"Finally!" I groaned out while grining.

Yeah so we ended up with that. And we continued shopping for Mia. Well peyton already bought her dress yesterday.

At the end of the day, Mia got her minty green dress that compliment her eyes. Yeah and Pey end up buying some shoes

and we're probably ready for the party.
