This is a story by: Abigail McRorey and Serenity Tradewell

As I walked down stairs, I was surprised as the smell of bacon and eggs filled the room. When I got all the way down stairs, I was happy to see my mom already awake, sitting at the table with breakfast already made."Happy birthday," my mom said as I walked into the kitchen. "You're now 17, how does it feel." "The same as every year that you have ask me."  I smiled as she laughed.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I woke up, and reached over to my night stand to turn off the annoying alarm on my phone. Of course that was a dream. Mom is never that happy, and she has never, ever made breakfast. Well at least not since dad started leaving to get drunk at bars, then coming home around 1 am only to start hitting mom, blaming her for everything wrong in his life, and yelling at the top of his lungs at her.
