. ! Breaking ! .
'P e o p l e'
. . .
As I was walking down to see a villain's attack, I stared wide-eyed. Another, bout my age was struggling in the sludge villain I thought All Might had taken care of, not long ago. I saw fire surrounding the scene, as the heroes weren't able to defeat the villain, save him, and put out the fire all at the same time with their quirks. Hopeless. If they were real heroes. . .

Walking under a bridge, I was attempting to get my spirits up. A grate up ahead, as I noticed, radiated a bit of a frightening aura. Ignorantly, I did not pay it attention. It was a debt I had to owe, and pay some little devil its toll.Nearing the end of the tunnel, I decided something along the lines of, "no matter what anybody thinks, I have to believe in myself!" Clenching my fist and raising it in the air, laughing like All Might to raise my confidence, too, seemed to help my attitude. Joy does not last.
Something bubbled behind me. A kind of slime rose from the grate, in a sickening fern color. I trembled with fear, gasping.
It spoke, "You'll make a perfect skin-suit for me to hide in, kid!"
I couldn't remember a single fact about a well-known hero or defense in combat before the villain rushed to jump on me, only sludge other than it- or his?- eyes and teeth.
I dropped my notebook, as the sludge went into my mouth, and it felt like I was drowning, however the water burning, and more dense.
"Don't worry, I'm just taking over your body!" The villain assured. All it did was panic me more, as he went on, "It'll be easier for both of us if you don't fight back. It'll only hurt for a minute. You'll feel better soon!" His horrible elongated, sharp teeth seemed to mock me. His yellow and red eyes were as cheerful as the day of Christmas, sinister as the Grinch.
Grabbing the material, surely not liquid
I thought, I can't breathe! Nearly on the verge of becoming a human water fountain of tears, the villain said in my futile attempt, "Grab all you want, my body's made of fluid." I felt as if I was going to die. A quirkless kid that wanted to become a hero, despite his being irregularly powerless, dying by a lower villain with a repulsing quirk."Thanks for the help. You're a real hero to me, kid."
It was like a punch to every fiber of my being.I kicked, I thrashed; but everything didn't work. I hoped, I prayed; but not a soul had come to help in my sad state of being a hostage.
"I didn't know he was in the city. I've got to get out of here fast before he tracks me down." I didn't know what he was talking about. I didn't care, either. I just wanted to live, to be saved, to be anywhere but under the bridge.
My body's. . . getting weak! I thought, and, sure enough, my grip on the world lessened, and my hands fell. I was sobbing, tears dripping, though inaudibly. I-I think I'm dying! No, I-! this can't be the end. Somebody . . . help!
The grate opened, or rather flew away. A voice rang out, "Have no fear. You are safe. Now that. . ." I had already fallen unconscious, unable to hear the man who had spoken any longer.
Opening my eyes once again, I saw a figure, muscular, fist out as if just having punched something, bag in his other hand. Is that All Might? I lazily thought.
ฯ Timeskip brought to you by symbols. ฯ
I woke up to a towering figure slapping the side of my face, wearing the most plain clothes I'd ever seen.
