It was Christmas Eve when the band arrived in Colorado when a blizzard swept in and they won't be going anywhere until the storm passes. Staying in the resort reminded Melody of the time when her family had to wait until a certain snow storm passed. When she was a little girl, they celebrated Christmas in their room until they were able to go back to California. After remembering that day, Melody decided to call her parents to forgive them after not talking to them for months. Melody was nervous when she called her parents because even though Jennifer told her that they're slowly accepting her new life and felt guilty for upsetting her, she's not gonna back away from this road. This was a very important task for her to do, especially on Christmas Eve. Forgiving them would be a gift that she will give to them. When her father answered the phone, he felt happy hearing her voice again.
"I'm really sorry for getting mad at you and Mother when I left, also sorry for not talking to you two for months." Said Melody.
"It's okay, sweetheart. It was never your fault." Said Alfred.
Melody felt happy hearing that. She didn't expect to hear those words, but she can tell that he really meant those words.
"Is Mother there?" Asked Melody.
"No, your mother is visiting your sister. But I will tell her that you called." Alfred replied.
"Okay, also there's something that I want to tell you and I want you to listen, Daddy. I am sorry for running off, but I felt like you and Mother were treating me like a child, I was just upset and angry. I just wanted you two to understand. I know you had an image of how you thought my life should go, but that's not the life I wanted and when I realized that, I needed to make a change."
"I understand, sweetheart. Your mother and I have talked a lot about this. We're sorry that we got so upset, we never wanted to crush your dream."
Melody felt touched by those words, she can tell that he was honest by those words.
"It's alright, I forgive you both. Also this is more than just a dream, it's more like a new chapter of my life. Before I go, I almost forgot to mention that we're in Colorado right now. Practically stuck in a resort until the blizzard passes. It does remind me of the time we celebrated Christmas during our trip when we got stuck in our room until the storm passed."
"I remembered that day, we had to think of a way to entertain ourselves while waiting for the blizzard to pass. We managed to have fun celebrating Christmas even though we couldn't go home. You were so excited when it finally came."
"I remembered that I was worried that Santa wouldn't be able to get through the blizzard, but you told me that Santa will always find the good little boys and girls." Said Melody.
She did have a good talk with her father, remembering that special day she had with her family when she was little and telling him everything that happened. She felt happy after telling him that she forgives him and her mother.
Later that night, Melody was able to find the right hiding place for David's gift by hiding it in the closet. She couldn't wait to give it to him when it was delivered on time in her room before the blizzard trapped everyone in the resort. It was a bass guitar that was similar to a bass guitar that Paul McCartney played during the days of Sgt. Pepper. She bought it at a music store before she went back to Cambridge and had Emma deliver it to the band's manager before the band arrived in Colorado. She does hope that he likes it. She heard a knock on the door, so she went to answer it.
"Hey, sweetie. Come in." Said Melody.
After letting him in, she was so excited to surprise him. He sat down on the bed after she told him to sit down and close his eyes while she went into the closet to grab the bass guitar, she grabbed it and sat next to him.
"Okay, open your eyes." Said Melody.
When he opened his eyes, it was a bass guitar. Just like the one that Paul McCartney played during the Sgt. Pepper days. It was so beautiful, it was the sweetest thing that Melody ever did for him.
"It's beautiful, darling." Said David.
"Thanks, I had to make sure that I found the right one at a music store before I went to Cambridge." Said Melody.
"I do have something special for you as well, turn around and lift your hair up."
Melody did as she was told, she felt something on her neck as he put something on. It was a necklace with a heart-shaped amethyst gemstone.
"It's a beautiful necklace, where did you get this?"
"I bought it in Paris before you arrived, I had to wait for a special day to give it to you."
"Thank you for something so beautiful like this, especially since it has my birthstone."
Later, Melody and David were laying in bed together after having a romantic bliss that involved making love. Melody decided to tell David that she called her family and forgave them.
"I just decided to call them, it felt like the right time to forgive them after not talking to them for months." Said Melody.
"You did the right thing, Melody. You won't have to deal with that problem anymore." Said David.
"Thank you. I wasn't really sure, but it felt right."
"To be honest, I am nervous about meeting them again since we're in a relationship."
"Don't worry, I'll be sure that they don't give you a hard time."
David was telling the truth when he told Melody on how nervous he was on meeting her parents again, he gets the feeling that they blame him for being another reason why she left home. But he knows that he has to face them again, especially since Melody is working things out with her parents.
"Don't worry, babe. I'll be with you when it's time to face them." Said Melody.
"Thanks, darling. To be honest, meeting relatives is always the scary part when it comes to relationships." Said David.
"It's okay, I'll make sure that they don't give you a hard time. Besides, I do feel nervous about meeting your mother when we go to see her after the tour."
"No need to worry, I told my mother about you. She actually can't wait to meet you one day."
"Really? I was afraid that she wouldn't like me."
"She's seen you in interviews, she said that she thought that you're a very nice person."
Melody felt relieved that David's mother likes her. She was afraid that his mother would judge her because of her age and that she's an American, but she was wrong. Having to hear that David's mother really wanted to meet her was one of the best things to hear.
"Happy Christmas, Melody." Said David.
"Happy Christmas, David." Said Melody.
She kissed him before she fell asleep in his arms.
That night became one of the most special nights that she had in her life.
