Alfred was screwed.
His very own nation was unraveling his deepest secret; one he worked so hard to keep from prying eyes. He won't stop now, he's come too far to stop.
Alfred would do anything to protect it, even if it means he'll fall.
He tuned out the sounds of the meeting room, he needed to think. He needed to act like he was on board with the idea of studying Mars and its "signs of life" while keeping her safe.
Easier said than done, Alfred thought with a sigh. Leave it to NASA to fucking ruin everything. It was his own space program, too! He cornered himself, and it was up to him to get out of it.
Whatever it takes, he will protect her, she was everything he worked for.
Alfred won't let it go to waste.
