"I never meant to make her cry."

Eddie looked up from his English essay and met the most soft and beautiful dark brown eyes he had ever seen. Framed by dark long lashes and encased behind a pair of round wire glasses.

"Okay...?" Eddie said. Why was he even talking to him?

"Richie. Richie Tozier, dude."

"Oh."

"And you are Eddie, right?" Eddie blushed. How did the most popular boy know his name? And they've not even interacted at all in the past two years.

Not being able to speak, he nodded.

"Cool."

Richie peered down at the small boy sitting in front of him. He looked kind of adorable but Richie wouldn't say that. It made him sound gay.

And he wasn't gay. At all.

"Is that english?"

"Yeah." Eddie said, happy to fill the silence between them.

"Can i join? i've got my own paper too." Richie asked and held up his crumpled half-done essay. Eddies hands itched to snatch the essay and smooth out all the creases and folds, but held down his OCD tendencies.

Richie pulled out a chair opposite and sat. Hunching over his paper with none other than the schools resident loser, Eddie Kaspbrak.

Richie didn't mind.
