Looking after each other

Part 1

Amy was in shock, not only had her best friend just been voted out but her other friend was clearly also struggling, another was injured and she herself was feeling pretty ill. She had gone down with the flu just after Karim had. She was glad that he had at least been feeling almost totally better by the live shows but she was right into the worst grip of it and it was hard to push down the pain and ignore it in order to concentrate on her job. They had even offered them a by into next week when Amy had been dashing off the floor from each rehearsal to be sick but she refused, she was strong and after all she vomited a lot anyway with her chronic illness.

Dianne was currently being looked after by Janette who had guided her off the floor at the end since she had been stuck there frozen in shock. Amy looked over, grateful for the other woman looking after her for a moment whilst she sat down and gained some composure. She would then have to gather up Nadiya from med bay and track down wherever Katya had gotten to before they could all head home and hopefully just have a relaxing day tomorrow.

She saw Janette approach with Dianne and smiled, holding out her arms. Dianne jumped up onto her lap and snuggled in close. Amy let her sit there for a few moments before gently shifting the girl from her lap which made her whimper.

"Hey, it's okay. We're gonna head home, just picking up Nadiya and Katya enroute" Amy told her, thankfully being in a backstage corridor meant it was quiet

She smiled warmly at Dianne when the girl hopped up, getting up herself and taking her hand. Janette went to find Karen and said she would meet them at home and so Amy went off in search of Nadiya and Katya.

She found them both in the medical room, still holding Diannes hand as they walked through the door she gave a small smile to Nadiya and to Lucy, the med bay doctor.

"Hey Lucy" Amy greeted, her voice still hoarse from the flu

"Oh girl you don't sound good" Lucy warned and Amy shrugged her off

"Thankfully this one is doing a lot better now huh? Just rest that foot tonight" Lucy smiled before she turned to Katya.

"You get some rest too honey" Katya nodded shyly, they had all noticed she was quite upset still and overwhelmed, it felt so strange to see Katya any less than her usual bubbly self.

Amy hadn't realised that Dianne had gotten upset again during the time they were talking and was now full on sobbing, rocking back and forth, hitting her legs and shoulders and making noises. They were definitely dealing with a meltdown and Katya teared up too.

"Hey, lets go wait in the car and give them some space" Nadiya said to Katya, offering her hand for the other to hold.

Katya wiped her own eyes too and sniffled, nodding. Once she and nadiya had left Lucy immediately dimmed the lights then gently offered over a soft cushion to redirect diannes hitting. She pulled up a chair so Amy could sit next to her and left the woman to calm her down, she knew more than anyone how to help Dianne through this.
