Carry on Cather

Summer

I look down to keep the tears from showing on my cheeks. I'm going to miss Levi so much this summer it actually hurts. Wren is going to Laura's for the summer, and my dad is in California. Of course Levi doesn't know this. Why would I tell him? He didn't ask about my plans for the summer and I'm not just going to tell him that I'm basically homeless. Okay, not really. I mean, Wren said I could come to Laura's with her, (yeah right!)
Or I could go home and stay alone, (fat chance!) so basically, I'm homeless.
I hear Reagan kick the door open and I hear Levi's cheery voice following her in and I wipe my tears quickly, "hey..." I whisper.
"Hello Cather!" Levi grins then it fades. "Cath? Are you crying? What's wrong sweetheart?"
"N-nothing..." I shake my head and wipe my tears but he's already got his arms around me and he's trying to look in my eyes.
"I know why she's crying. It's 'cause she doesn't have anywhere to go this summer. Her clone is going to stay with their stupid witch of a mom and her dad is going out of town and you're leaving her..."
Levi's eyes widen at this realization and I glare at Reagan. She just shrugs.
"You just broke like, all of the ground rules Reagan..." I sigh "how did you even know that?"
"I listen to your phone conversations..." She shrugs, "plus you talk in your sleep."
Levi is still not smiling "Cath... Why didn't you tell me?..." He whispers.
I sigh and look down "I don't know... I didn't want to bug you..."
"Cath... You could never bug me... You know what? You're coming with me sweetheart. You're coming to my parents house with me and reading me lots of fanfiction..." He smiles "or.... Or you could read me that short story of yours... Either way... You're coming with me."
"I-I can't do that... This... This is your family summer Levi... I can't intrude..."
"Why not? I did." Reagan adds.
Levi winces. "Yeah. And it's not intruding if I invite you." He smiles again.
I sigh "I don't know.... I don't even think your family will like me... Why would they want to spend the summer with me?"
"Because I know they'll love you. I know I do." He smiles and kisses my cheek and I blush.
"Levi...."
"Cather..." He mimics me, "cmon. Pack your bags. You're going to meet my family."
