Chapter 1: A New Start

Hello, my name is Raven. Raven Oak. I'm really not new to this school I go to but it's a new day to another grade. The 9th grade. I was leaning against the wall outside of the school waiting for the bell to ring. I was listening to the sounds around me: the birds singing, the wind blowing through the leaves of the trees, these two annoying guys named Shadow and Noah laughing too loud. But yeah, it was nice besides those two. Then the bell rang and I shuffled into the school and sat down in a chair.

A few moments later everyone was sitting down in the classroom. Everything was normal on a first day. People were socializing and organizing stuff, but something was out of the ordinary. There was this new girl, I've never seen her here before. I was trying to think if I recognized her or not but then the teacher, Mr. Greene, interrupted my thoughts saying, "Ok class, since today is the first day I'll let you go outside and be yourself! But don't be too touchy and don't do anything stupid." I wish he could've just went outside and said that before the bell rang so we wouldn't have had to come inside and sit down for nothing. But I got up and went outside like everyone else. I sat against a tree nearby and put in my earbuds and listened to music. I noticed the new girl was standing on the bridge just looking at the water but I didn't care really. All was swell until the complete douchebag called Ein ran up to her and pushed the girl into the water. I paused my music and watched the scene unfold. Ein ran off and a boy named Shiloh ran over to her need. He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the water. They started talking to each other. Shiloh was most likely just making sure she was ok though. I decided I didn't want to eavesdrop so I resumed my music and closed my eyes. A few hours it felt like later, something... strange happened. All of a sudden I hear this large crack and my eyes dart open. I rip out my earbuds and stand up. I hear a loud scream and I look over and see him.... a Hunter. Someone turned to their wolf form and chased them off, it looked like the guy named Shadow. I looked around and saw another Hunter on top of a tree. The Hunter fires at someone again but I sincerely didn't want to stick around so I turned to my wolf form and started to bolt on outta there. While I was running off I caught a glimpse of the person that was shot first: Shiloh. I was too stunned to care, which sounds horrible but I wasn't thinking at the time. Then I hear another loud crack but this time I also felt a horrible pain I my back and I fell. I felt and heard the crack again. After that, all I see is black and all I hear is loud ringing.
